I think for me, I'm having a hard time envisioning another material in the mix but stopping at the top edge of the cabinets, while the wall color goes across the top and on either side.

I think I would either run the material all the way to the ceiling in that spot (and possibly along that entire wall area depending on material), or simply pick a wall color that is dark enough to tie in with the countertop/backsplash and cover the entirety of that wall from inset edge to inset edge. This would also help blend the TV in better. Something darker, and a compliment to the tones in countertop (I can't see it well from here) but Black Fox from SW comes to mind. It would make this area a dark feature wall, and some fabulous sconces, under lighting for TV, or other lux touches would be needed I think. Also, without seeing the rest of your space, I can't say for certain that dark is the way to go here. I just think it will end up feeling choppy and out of place if you only highlight that one little tiny area under the TV with a stone or tile and stop short of the ceiling.

Do you have any other pics of the space you can post here in the comments? It will help others weigh in on this as well, so we can see the furniture style in the space, the other colors/materials present, natural lighting in the room, etc. and I would love a close up shot of the counter tops!

We are waiting on furniture, and the front of the bar is not complete. The rest of the room is white, with walnut floors and trim. We live in a coastal area. The bar is in the middle of a long open room. Sort of a lounge area between the dining area and main living room. It’s pretty bare so far, but with rugs, chairs, stools it will warm up.

This is the coffee table that sits directly across from the bar, the center of a conversation area with 4 nutmeg linen and walnut barrel chairs. The other side is a wall of windows. I’m afraid that like you suggested, one dark wall will chop up the room. I like your idea of sconces.

What is the function of that TV?

I don’t find that area of wall odd looking because I can imagine that once it’s completed it will look different, there will be other things to focus on. I’d wait until then and then decide if it bothers me.
