An accent table with greenery would be nice (in the location where you have the christmas tree).

Did you check if anything added to the floor is permitted? it usually isn't.

It looks good to me. What's the black lump in the corner? Replace that with something nice.

I think a larger rug, a chair to drape a coat, and artwork would look lovely in whatever style suits the rest of your decor.

If this is a condo or apartment building I doubt any of the above is permitted.

If that's not your private area that's only yours I wouldn't put anything expensive out there cuz it won't take them long to grab and run to the elevator cuz you did say elevator those three doors are the elevator right? You could just put a rug so that would be kind of inviting really if you do a wreath do a seasonal wreath free season

I'd choose a rug that contrasted a bit with the floor for visibility. Otherwise, I think you're doing pretty well with the small footprint you have, although I'd be tempted by that wall that faces the elevator -- does the building hang no art? could you sneak up a cheerful poster with command strips?

Thank you so much for all your comments. I am free to add whatever I wish to the door and right of the door. I cannot add anything to the wall across the elevator. I’d really appreciate more suggestions on a rug because I’m stumped. What colors, size? Thank you all again.

If you can place items on the common area floor, I suggest a wider mat (shown is sisal with a black border) and a tall base with dried branches. At Holiday time you can replace with holly branches. I wreath to distract from your nice door.

Your door is fabulous! And I love your wreaths! Displaying seasonal wreaths is excellent - and I sure would not have anyone telling me that my victory wreaths are ”distracting”. If it’s too distracting, they don’t have to look at them. Really.

I think your wreaths are beautiful, and will continue to uplift and inspire your neighbors and guests. I think the wreaths alone are very welcoming. With the wreath and the mat, I think it’s enough. That is all I personally would do. Nothing in the corner. I would let the wreaths be my signature. :)

@freedomplace1 - I think it is just a choice about what you want to draw one's attention and eye to. Faux floral foliage or real hardwood with detailed arches. Honestly, there is no right answer. I just think real, deep colored hardwood is more in line with request for warm elegance. The wreaths seem more crafty, country, or festive.

Wreaths on a door are classic - “faux foliage” or not; and btw the wreath I showed does not have faux foliage, but that is neither here nor there.

Your suggestion of a table/stand in the corner, with a sculpted bowl on top of it, is useless clutter imo, not to mention would seem out of place.

To make a mockery of the OP’s practice of hanging wreaths is rude, period. Not to mention, ignorant.

Well, I hope the OP didn’t feel that I was making a mockery of their decor. If so, let me rephrase:

Your door is handsome, warm, and elegant. How lucky to have a real wood door with architectural detail in an apartment hallway instead of a flat painted one, as is the usual case in apartments - including mine. It is an unusual feature and I’d love to be able to see the whole thing. It feels hidden by the wreath and I’d prefer to just see it, let my eyes drink in a large swath of that beautiful wood instead of having it covered by decor. In this case I feel that the less is more approach will achieve your goal. The warm elegance is already there.

Also, an entrance is a good preview to what is inside. What is the style and vibe of your home and how would you best reflect it here?

I think your door and flooring are very elegant and both are underserved by seasonal faux folliage wreaths and that rug and poof. Less is more.

Following, can't wait to see what you do with it! It is beautiful! I would ask if you can put art on the wall facing the elevator. Ditto re nothing should be expensive out there.  I like the umbrella container idea, maybe beside the door where the poof is? 

Given it’s not an interior foyer, keep it simple and elegant..let the lovely door draw the eye as they enter into your home. Just add a larger mat that extends across the entire entrance, as it will create a more welcoming feel

Thank you all. I understand both perspectives regarding wreaths on the door versus an accent piece beside it. I do like the idea of an umbrella stand. My lost challenging issue now is the area rug. I’ve been searching during my free time but can’t quite find one that fits with the flooring. 😱 I’ll keep looking and update my progress. For Abby too bad you got a bad haircut hopefully it will grow fast wear a lovely hat or a beautiful scarf no one will pay attention then don't go back to the person who cut your hair and tell them just to take a little bit when you do but maybe wait 3 to 4 months

I agree the door is elegant I do not love wreaths but if you do then it is okay. I think a nice mat and that is it on this side of the door what is on the insude ? I for sure would not do anything moveable outside the entry no matter what someone will take it for sure.
