That is a lot for a single door but … we had a provia door with sidelights installed in our current house and its easily the best door we’ve ever had. The hardware we put on is looking a bit faded but the door is like new.

Provia make a very good door. That pricing is definitley in line with what I have been seeing. Keep in mind, doors, windows and everything else have gone up quite a bit since 2021. Still, that is decent pricing. You do not want to cut corners when choosing a door because they get constant impact by everyday use. The large home improvement stores that we are all familiar with tend to cater to the price conscious consumer who is more concerned with price than quality which means they usually end up being disappointed in the end. I see it all the time.

Doors are a wildcard due to options and site conditions. There is no way be precise without all the details.

We had a Provia entry door with a single side lite installed in October and we really like it. We paid about $5900 for that door with 1 side lite and it was fiberglass. We saw a few other companies but to me, Provia are in a league of their own. We did not like anything at lowes or home depot. In my opinion they look very cheaply constructed.

The way Provia is made is what makes it stand out in my opinion, the internals of the door that you dont see.

Which Provia line is it?

Either way, that pricing IS in the normal range for a single, premium quality entry door these days. The fact that you got another quote in the same range confirms that.

I wouldn't say that Provia is "in a league of their own", however they are very good and are certainly in the top tier of entry door manufacturers.

The only other Door manufacturer that is comparable to Provia is Home Guard. They also make a very good door.
