My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Bathroom Mural is Installed

I managed to find an amazing wallpaper installer and she put the mural up on Monday. I’m very happy. We just finished a big remodel that included a new primary suite. The photos don’t show colors accurately. The walls and trim/doors are BM SpringThaw which is a subtle green/gray. You see it more accurately on vanity wall. One of my favorite features is the door that goes out to what will be a small private garden balcony. Right now the door is just covered in vintage english lace panels I had. I like the softness so may add a lower hem pocket and use brass cafe rods. I need to find a couple of






rugs. Little table may be replaced with an antique iron bench I’m going to look at tomorrow. Switch plates being painted/replaced.

    Your bathroom walls remind me of a hand painted mural that my nana had in her living room. When I was little, I used to play that the mural led to a magical secret garden. . .

      The mural reminds me of our last powder room, and the vanity of our last main bathroom. I think your mirrors are the same but larger version, or very similar. Nice job!

      That is gorgeous, Mtn.! I like that it has no back. I tried a nice caned back bench I've been hanging onto forever, but it was too bulky. The iron bench I'm looking at has similar lines as yours. Will require a new finish/upholstery, but priced to reflect that!

      Teeda, sorry to hijack, but do you think this mural would work on a smaller room? The bathroom I have in mind is like a shoe box, 9' x 5'. I am contemplating doing three sides and leaving the large mirror wall empty (the wall with the black granite).

      Absolutely yes, jojo. I wish I could have wrapped mine further. Are you thinking of doing the mural above the chair rail? That could be gorgeous. The smaller the space, the more detail you would see in a mural. Looks like the perfect space to add a mural!

      Thank you all for such kind words! I love walking into the space, but feel it still needs a bit of tweaking and decorating. Allison, if my bath reminds you of anything in your home I am quite flattered! I have always loved your taste and style. Kswl, the bedroom needs decorating and I will be looking for some help from you all. Will post photos when I get ready to start in there.


      Mtn, the more I thought about the bench you shared I realized that something organic like that is just what the room needs. There are a lot of hard surfaces so rattan makes so much sense. Thank you for sending me in that direction. I just ordered this bench. It is the perfect size for the wall and I've always loved anything bamboo style. May end up putting a cushion on it.
