The pieces of wood appear to support the countertop, not the sink. Why do you think that additional support for the countertop is necessary? Is the countertop insufficiently supported by the cabinet? Is the sink insufficiently supported by the countertop? What is the countertop material?

The picture might not be clear but the wood piece is partially on the sink and the other half on the countertop

It's quartz.

I didn't think it was Insufficiently supported by the countertop.

This is what they added when I asked them why the sink didn't have support brackets.

Besides the additional support, how was the sink initially installed? Were the clips uses? What type sink from the top? Double sink should have sink straps at the very least, the clips never truly hold that well, especially a double sinkj as that will have some serious weight to it when loaded. As far as that wood, it is really adding nothing in the way of support.

Consider the HUSH.

Worse than coming down, that sink is going to leak and leaking can cause bug infestation and a reinforcement rod failure. Drop the sink and install a HUSH or a Sink Strap or two. Don't wait please.
