Thanks for posting, this is pushing me more and more toward ordering. I have to re-locate my vegetable garden in the next year or two (maybe three...), and this would be so, so much cheaper than enclosing the whole area in chain-link fencing.

Maybe I'll order this summer and set up a dummy vegetable bed as a test to see just how well they'll work, obviously it would be with tempting goodies for them but not stuff I'd be upset about if they chow down.

porkchop, I'm not sure I'd entrust a vegetable garden to the deer posts. While they work very well, there are breakthroughs--new deer, fawns, etc. And if it's raining when the new deer show up, the posts don't work when they're wet, so you can get several nights of damage. And of course, they have to actually find them. If they're busy on a row of lettuce or broccoli, they can do a lot of damage before they find a post. Less damage occurs, I think, in a mixed perennial/shrub bed.

I bought a deer fence system, 20x30 I think, with one door 3 years ago from deerbusters.com. for my vegetable garden. I did have to hire someone to put it up, but the system itself, very well designed, was $1800. You might check them out. I looked at the site, didn't see anything that fit exactly what I wanted so I phoned and they put together exactly what I needed. Well worth it.

Luckily between rural people hunting and being south of both I-95 and a major railroad, deer aren't much of a problem here. Rabbits, on the other hand...
