Prep sink faucet selection

We are going from a double sink, to separate prep and cleanup sinks. Our existing faucet, which we will reuse for the cleanup sink, is a pull down style (Delta 9113-AR-DST). Does it make sense for the prep faucet to be the same model (or at least the same type) or is a different configuration better for prep? The prep sink will be a 17” Kraus Dex; cleanup sink will be a 25” Dex.

Thanks!

I have a Brizo Litze for my main kitchen sink (love it) and I got the matching bar faucet for our coffee/wine bar. Even though my bar sink is much smaller than my main sink, I sometimes wish I had gotten a pull down faucet for that sink too; it would make it a bit easier to rinse when I clean. Just something to think about.

My kitchen faucet is very similar to yours and I used the same faucet for my prep sink which is slightly smaller that yours. 9 1/2 years in an no regrets.

For my Kitchen, I have a pulldown faucet at the cleanup/main sink and a pullout at the prep sink. I put in the pullout faucet b/c I wanted to be able to "hook" the faucet head onto the 5-gallon bucket we used for our fish tank. I didn't want the bucket sitting in the sink but rather on the counter b/c it was easier to slide a full bucket off the counter than to lift it up and over if it was in the sink.

We no longer have the fish tank, but I still like it to hook the faucet head on my larger pots.

For me, I have the best of both worlds -- I have a choice regarding which type of faucet works for any given task.

(My main faucet came in two sizes, but I chose to get a pullout for the prep sink rather than the smaller version of the one on the main/cleanup sink.)

Is the Grohe Ladylux quality good? We like the ergonomics and look, but some of the online reviews say it can leak, and (especially for the price) that is unacceptable.

Our existing Delta has been fine, but we don’t love it - the spray button feels cheap, though when we looked at other brands (American Standard, Hansgrohe, etc etc.) those had cheap-feeling buttons as well.

Our old Kraus felt solid, but didn’t last.

My mom had a Grohe Ladylux and ended up replacing it after only a short time. She didn’t know when she ordered it that you have to hold the spray button down to keep it in spray mode. It was an expensive lesson but now we both know that before buying you have to ask (or better yet test it if you can find a store where the faucets are hooked up to water.)

This was many years ago so hopefully Grohe has fixed that, but I don’t know.

A friend of mine put in the Grohe Ladylux and had a significant leak after only a few years. I am sure the part was under warranty but she ri[pped it out and put in the same Kohler Simplicity that I had which is significantly cheaper. This was in a prior house, and I have 4 of these faucets in my current house - 9 1/2 years old. Only issue is the spray head has had issues (no leaking just spary function issues probably due to hard water deposits). Kohler had promptly replaced them each time for no charge.

I had been assuming we would go with a pull-down faucet, but for prep I am now wondering if an older style straight faucet (with a separate sprayer) might be better. For prep we don’t need to be able to fill large or deep pots. Thoughts?
