LUNAR EMPIRE: I love this yellow. I wish it was a 6.5 inch bloom. It is closer to 5 - 5.5 inches.

Sherry - It's a shame Lovely Miss Laucius is slow to establish. It has such a pretty face. Lollipop Kisses really pops!

David - I don't remember seeing Lingering Splendor before. I really like it!

Maryl - I'm surprised you moved out Lil Black Buds. It is so striking. Lisa Apps S. has outshone so many yellows over the years. It's a beauty, and it holds its color in your hot, hot summer.

Linda Beck had its best season in many years - taller than in previous years and much better budded.

Linda Beck clump - It used to always rebloom until a neighbor's tree got too tall.

Lonesome Jaguar is one of my favorite Derrows.

Lunar Empire - I agree with David that this is a good yellow. It does fade by late afternoon when temps are in the mid-high 90s.

Sherry, I agree that Laura Harwood is both pretty and hardy! Mine is a bit short, sometimes into the leaves but it stays anyway! Lavender Stardust is pretty too.

Nice L's! My favorites are Luscious Kiss, Little Castaway, and Lovely Miss Laucious.

Here are a few of our L's.

Lady Stephanie Victoria Redding is a late bloomer. I find the color somewhat dull.

Last Snowflake doesn't have many buds, is short, and doesn't bloom late or very late (it's registered as very late), but the flowers are lovely and it will stay around for a while.

Last Train to Clarksville is a late bloomer.

Lava Flow will always have a place in our garden. It may not be very well budded, but it is always one of the first tets to bloom.

Little Man Tait has nice little flowers, but I am not impressed with its growth. It is probably on its way out.

Lonesome Jaguar is new to the garden.

Lonnie Nesvarba is prettier than its registration photo. It is a rather strange color.

Love All Serve All is a vigorous plant.

Love for Jesus is not a great grower here but can produce some nice blooms.

Here's our clump of Luscious Kiss. Ours was a bonus too. I think it was paler last season probably because of the heat and dry weather when it bloomed.

Nancy - It's good to see Lonesome Jaguar still has a wide edge in Indiana's climate. Lady Stephanie is pretty, although the petal color is a bit dull. I remember you have some seedlings from it with a brighter red petal color.

Kate - Larry's Obsession always looks so good in your garden. Lydia's Regal Robes has such a striking bloom. It's a shame I could never get any seeds from it.

Brad - Your two Laura Harwood seedlings are nice. Liberty Banner looks so purple in your photos. Mine was always very red.

Debra, Red-headed Dragon Muffin is an offspring of Lady Stephanie Victoria Redding. The color is much improved.

Nice photos, Kate. Two that stand out to me are Lydia's Regal Robes and Lidia's White Lies.

Yes, with Lava Flow, one always has to weigh the meager bud count with the intense color of early blooms. This year, it disappointed. But I have earwigs in the home garden.

And on the later side, I think that Laura H has left the garden. She is always a bit short and the curled segments can be frustrating. But Kate's clump is splendid. Late to the Party is quite short here.

Yes, Linda Beck surprised with always-clean blooms, in a year in which splotchies were rampant elsewhere.

And Lydia's Regal Robe is indeed regal and a vigorous Waldrop (usually an oxymoron here).

Lonesome Jaguar is well budded, but seemed shorter than usual, and it could always use a few inches.

Love in a Vacuum is an intense lush red earlier in the day.

Luminous Tabernacles. Curt continues to hybridize yellows, though they don't sell.

Laguna Brava is another Hanson that looked good.

Love N LouJean was not as nice as in 2023. That could be ditto for many cultivars, and 2023 was not a banner year (though 2022 was). A large flower that opens well with its asymmetric shape.

La Dolce Vita has a vivid flower; should be more widely grown. Moldovan

Lavender Panties had an off year.

Love Song was okay, but didn't like the heat and drought. Who did? Davisson. This photo captures the color well.

I agree with Debra-the clump shots are so pretty. I forgot about Lovestruck Linda. I don’t know that I got a good photo last year-a truth about so many of mine. However However, seeing yours, I need to go back and look! Love N LouJean is a nice color as is Love in a Vacuum.

I did go back and find a decent picture of Lovestruck Linda. Thot top bloom is something else! I’m not sure at this minute what it is.

While looking for LL, I found Lady Dragon which did not bloom well last year

And Like A Gee Six which looks great for Celeste but not for me!

And Lillian’s Thin Ice which has never performed well here

Let Justice Roll Down (Emmerich) is a rich color, but I hope will be more vigorous.

Let the Sea Resound. Very clean with good height. Hard to find a fault in this one in 2024.

Mantis - Let the Sea Resound always looks so good in your photos. The color in pics in the NGA database really varies a lot. I like the lighter colors you get. Let Justice Roll Down has pretty colors too!

Kate - It's so strange to me that Lillian's Thin Ice never did anything for you or Kay. It was so wonderful in my garden until being repeatedly devoured by grubs year after year. I seem to remember Nan adding it. Nan, how did Thin Ice do for you?

Here it is in my garden in 2021. That was the last year I had a magnificent clump of it.

I did love its cascading form.

Debra, it's hard to say how Lillian's Thin Ice is doing. It's in a bed that is being overrun by a vine Bob planted. He planted a Campsis radicans, orange trumpet creeper, on a pole near the bed and it has spread everywhere. We have to totally redo two beds. Previous to the vine taking over, Lillian's Thin Ice did fine. We will be digging it out of that bed and moving it, hopefully this spring.
