Any Wall Decor Ideas

How would you decorate this wall? Mirror lights artwork etc???
it’s too narrow for any type of table because my couch is a little too big for the space but I’m on a tight budget so it will have to do. Let me know your thoughts thank you!

Just For reference there is 35” clearance for walking through from wall to couch I know not ideal but it is what it is at this point thank you!

Impossible to say without seeing the rest of the room. Art & a lamp come to mind but what other art is in the room & is a lamp needed at that wall end of couch?

Don’t have anything else I just moved so it’s just a couch here is the room empty

Any recs on decorative window covering my couch is butt up to the wall for max space to walk on the other side so I don’t think drapes would be appropriate ?

Oh hey! I remember you I think - you’re the resident & this is your first not shared with others home? That couch looks like it takes up the entire space between entry door to wall across the room - is that right or is it a trick of the pic? It’s not a sectional, right? Will it fit along wall under the window?I remember a TV & Console maybe going on the wood wall but maybe that won’t work. Didn’t you post a plan with dimensions in your first post?

ETA - if it’s a sectional, can it be broken up & the end going into the room be put on the wood wall?

Yes that’s me! I’m so glad you remembered I’m moving in this week
It is a sectional here is a pic. My dad came with me and gifted me with this tv set up that he doesn’t use I don’t know how else to lay out the room. I know everything is too big for the space but it’s what I have to work with beggar’s can’t be choosers at this point lol

Ideally this is the layout that was good but the tv set up is too big to have it like this I have to work with what I have no spare change for anything less at the moment

    Back to unpacking :-)

Maybe I’ll put the sectional like the diagram and put the tv on the wall I was thinking of putting wall decor instead? Would it look funny when you first walk in seeing the tv ?

No it won’t look funny to see TV when walking in. IMO couch is better under window & along wood wall. TV on wall where heat vent on floor by doorway & thermostat on wall closer to kitchen. I think that’s the wall straight ahead when you walk in entry. It may not be most pleasing arrangement but I think it opens up the space & makes it feel less cramped by the large sectional. It also opens up the entry. Another plus is you can put a narrow console type table or cabinet under the wall opening into kitchen so you have a drop zone when coming in. And, maybe with that TV on the facing wall you’ll be able to see it from sitting at a table in the kitchen.

Awesome! I’m exhausted but I will try that layout tomorrow and keep you posted 😊

I would try that and see how the space feels. That would also let you have the sectional a bit off the wall to add some drapery panels to the window since you asked about that. It may be a bit of work to try it but worth it imo.

Oh, right, I forgot about the window covering question. Drapes would be ok but would be hidden behind couch so not my first choice. Looks like window has blinds so some privacy & light taken care of. I’d look at woven wooden shades like this link:

    Select Blinds

If link doesn’t work, just search & you’ll see. These can be mounted at ceiling & you can leave the existing blinds there. Choose a color to coordinate with the wood wall & they’ll look great - a nice, clean uncluttered look. If your kitchen window needs a treatment get the same blinds. The price points are all over so they won’t break the bank.

Worked out great guys! I know everything is mismatch and not to my decor but slowly but surely I’ll buy and replace :-)

Should I do drapes or shade over?

Which tv wall insp do you think would look better for the space?

@M A The arrangement looks really great!! Wall inspo - for which wall? I’d just hang a great very large piece of art on the wood wall. Something colorful that makes you smile. Center on the wall. If you want shelves on TV wall, I’d position from the corner for left end (facing wall) & extend to only a bit above TV. Not sure what items the shelving would hold. You could also hang art on that wall centered on wall not on TV. For blinds, see my last post from yesterday - I think woven wood shades would be great. They would add texture, warmth no clutter.

Thank you for the suggestions. What color type rug do you think I should get? The wood is throwing me off for decor

Your decor is neutral so your choices are endless. What colors do you like & what kind of art appeals? If I remember correctly your kitchen counters are bright blue. It would be nice to tie that color into the living room area because of the open wall space. Both spaces will be visible from several vantage points. If you like blue then include that in the design of the rug - I’m thinking a multi color rug. Add the same color throw pillows & maybe a throw blanket on sofa for snuggling up. Blue in the art? Easy to do no matter what the image is. If you did get the woven wood shades for the window(s) maybe in kitchen window too, they would ’balance’ all the color with warm tones & be nice with the wood wall & nice wood flooring.
