help making the chair cohesive with Sofia

What's the best way to make this chair cohesive with my sofa? Ideas & suggestions please.

One way to make the two pieces more cohesive is with a throw pillow that has both the color of the couch and the chair.

    Wall art and throw blanket.

    What is above white cabinets?

IMO an actual sofa not a sectional one more chair to match the one you have . If that is not happening then you need to add somthring to the sectional to balance the style of that chair or at least put the chair where the the dog is on that corner of the rug not right beside the sofa. The colors are not the issue the scale is the issue so farther away from the sofa will help. Then some pillow choices maybe a lumbar one for the chair and a throm on the sofa to tie them together colorwise

Agree with the pillows, throw and art.

    Was wondering about Sofia.😉

I like the lumbar idea and ill try moving the chair. Thinking of adding a footrest/ottoman as well

Looks like you're going for a modern look. EDIT the whole space for a simple clean line.

    nice chair, works.

it's the little side cabinet and the clutter that takes away from the MOD look you have with the framed art.

I'm working on clutter🤪. I don't want to replace the bar cabinet yet. How do I make it more modern?

I'm not a fan of a pillow on a chair when the sofas have them. The chair doesn't really look like it could hold a throw.

I think I would get different pillows for the sofa. While the white ones give a nod to the chair, I think you can do better.

@eld6161 better in what respect? Any suggestions?

What colors should I consider for the artwork?

What about a black shelf and smaller artwork?

The chair is cream almost ivory so I would use more of that color with the gray sofa and keep the conversational area monochromatic with creams and grays only, as in your rug. No colorful throw pillows or white.

The art is the color and it is fab...don't change it.

I would move the sofa console table to under the art. The sofa does not need it facing a kitchen.

Move the bar table to the foyer or kitchen.

That’s very tastefully done. Great job findings the pillows. They look just right to me.

The chair is very nice in that location. The touch of white in the pillow brings out the warmth in the leather. Very nice color palette. Good use of warm and cool tones.

The posters look good, I'm glad you haven't changed them. Congrats, it is gorgeous.

You’ve done a great job showing how accessories and furniture placement can make such a huge difference. Well done!

I appreciate your support! I'm still undecided about what to put next to the wine rack. I have a shadow box that displays matchbooks from places my husband and I visited while dating. However, it's small might look awkward. Im considering placing it on a shelf. What are your thoughts?

Was also thinking of painting this cabinet black

Love the wall color you ended up with! I think the shadow box would be nice on one of your new shelves. Try the shells on a shelf too instead of by the palms. I'm thinking art to the left of your wine rack. You are making great progress!

I still have many small decisions to make, and I'm trying to get them right. This community has been incredibly helpful - thank you

You could also try a small piece of art leaning on the top shelf.

The one adjustment I see is to place the chair more on the rug to make it more connected to the space. Everything else is great. Next to the wine rack, maybe a nice big mirror the height of the rack.

    I love your entryway!

Hah, my husband and I had a disagreement about that...I thought it was okay if only the two front legs of our swivel were on the carpet. Not him.

You need a longer rug that runs to the end of the credenza on the TV wall. It will outlying be a bit wider, but the scale of your room can handle it. I know, hate to cover more of the beautiful hardwood, but I think you will like the balance.

Thanks, I can see what you are saying, but the work that went into picking out this rug is still fresh in my mind. I’ll wait until my kids or dog badly stain it to replace it.

I love that little sentimental piece with the matches. I’d place it at eye level - maybe with a tall table lamp to illuminate it at night. This lamp from Target is adjustable so it can go as low as 41 inches high.
