Generally plants like to be near windows. this doesn’t seem like they would get enough light.

IMO a bit of a mess as that one is for sure. The one you show is totally unuseable as it is you need stand on the back of the sofa to water the plants no way does that work. Let us see your space to start but sorry not this idea . There really is no way to answer this without pics of your room and what plants and how big too much missing info.

Here is a pic of the slat wall mocked up with paper, but on a much smaller scale. I would go lower and higher with more variations in lengths of slats. As you can see, it’s a large wall/corner that I feel could accommodate the slat wall idea. I would also use it for books, etc not just plants.

It makes no sense to me I agree the corner needs something but I need to see the whole space to understand that corner .. Take pics of the whole space post those here in comments just like you did then see what you plan makes sense from this pic and thta mock up no way.

As usual,responders are correct.Slats vibe as an eyesore fussy dust collector,difficult to access without contorting your body.
Ugh on all levels.
If you insist on slats,you may consider shelves to convert to a cat climbing structure.
That corner needs something heftier,and plants prefer all around light so pots can be turned periodically.
