Sherry - Smurfette and Soft Hearted Mother are lovely! Sweet Autumn Mist is a neat one. I like pinched throats!

Silver Sword was not very vigorous where I had it planted in my old garden. We'll see how it does in Indy.

So Irresistible was a good performer in my old garden - even planted in part shade.

Soli Deo Gloria has a gorgeous bloom, but it multiplies so very slowly.

Star Lord gave stellar performances the past three years in Nashville, but it's another that is slow to multiply.

Spacecoast Irish Illumination did not do well when planted in part shade. I hope it does better in Indy, or at least survives this winter.

Spacecoast Francs Busby is one Spacecoast that supposedly does well in the north. I brought it and a seedling from it.

Summer Kate is a dormant pink that I really like. Super pod setter and good multiplier!

Sherry, Smurfette is such a pretty color as is Soft Hearted Mother. I agree about Solar Blast-every bloom is unique. Mine did not bloom last season but hope to see blooms this season.

Sherry: I really like SMURFETTE and if SOLAR BLAST was always like the second photo, I would have it in my garden.

Debra: SUMMER KATE is my type of bloom. Never heard of it. I will have to look that one up. I also like STAR LORD and SOLI DEO GLORIA.

Kate: I really like STARGATE PORTAL and SOUTHERN COTTON. SC looks as moderately budded as mine.

SMOOTH JAZZ: This is an early bloom. The sepals don't typically do this.

STAR OF INDIA: Nice tall plant. A consistent performer.

SPIRITUAL CORRIDOR: Another consistent performer.

SWEET TART: A bud Bennett intro.

SWIMMING WITH SHARKS as a polytepal bloom.

SUPER MODEL: Consistant performer. Good increaser.

SONIQUE: Tall scape.

STEAMROLLER: A bonus plant last year.

SUNSET MESA: Purchased this when I visited Brent Ross at Cottage Gardens. The scape had 5 way branching. The colors were striking.

SUCH A FLIRT: It has the Bud Bennett diploid look for a tetraploid. Purchased this from Ginny Pearce. She sends nice divisions and her plants do well for me.

SWEEPING SHADOWS: A great front of the border double for the mid-late season.

STOLEN HEART in the pm. I hope it survives the winter.

SULTRY GIRLS: A piece of this came home with me.

SPLENDOR OF THE KING: A piece of this also came home with me.

SUNGLASSES NEEDED: This was a massive daylily. The bloom is about 7 inches across and about 5 inches in height.

STARMAN: not a huge fan of these irregularly patterned blooms.

Sherry: I like the color on Socco Gap and the orange/yellow blend on Sunny intervals is right up my street......Debra: You know how I like Star Lord. It will be interesting to see how it holds up in an Indiana winter. SC Irish Illumination was a puzzle for me also. I finally found a spot on my west side that gave it the heat it liked, but somewhat dappled shade from 4PM on...........David: The shifting colors of Sunset Mesa will be interesting to see this season. Swimming With Sharks is a pretty one........Kate: You know my favorite is Substantial Evidence. It put me on the look out for those wide bold faced daylilies. What a nice picture of it..........I have some to post, but will do them under separate cover. Lots to do today before the storm hits tonight and tomorrow............Maryl

We tried growing the tet version of Sophia's Lips but didn't have much luck. This is the dip version.

Spacecoast Cheese Whiz is small-flowered.

I think the color of Spacecoast Nails and Lipstick is a bit harsh and the the flower can be a bit erratic. We are using it in the attempt to get red daylilies with near black eyes.

Spacecoast Small Victory was a bonus plant. It is a small flowered daylily.

This is not a great photo but this plant is new to the garden. This is Speckled Apple, a recent intro from Steve Williams. Its flower is registered at 4.5 inches.

Spots and Stripes is from Dave Mussar, who is working on spotted daylilies. He has a couple of intros this year that are really neat. Check out Pink Leopard and Spots in the Dark.

Spots Before My Eyes is a great grower.

St. Louie Blues does not appear to be a faster increaser.

I can see why Startle was exciting back in its day. Its washed out color does not appeal to me and often it passes that color to its offspring.

We have several small diploid yellows in the garden. This one is Statuesque, a three inch flower on a 60 inch scape.

Here is another small yellow dip. Steeple Jackie has a 3.5 inch flower on a 60 inch space. It is also late blooming.

Striped Action was new last season and spent the summer in a pot.

Sum of It All will probably not stay in the garden much longer. It was praised by a grower who lived quite a bit north of us as being hardy in her garden. Unfortunately, I think she had the advantage of lots of snow cover. Here in Indiana, without the snow cover, it barely hangs on and never increases.

I love the lemon yellow of Sun Temple Spirit. This is a great one for the late garden.

Kate - Southern Cotton is a stunner. I was on a waiting list for that one for awhile, but by the time it became available, I had decided not to add anymore dips. Your clump of Stardust Dragon is impressive. As you might recall, that one died on me twice. Skater is a nice one that I grew for several years. I brought some seedlings out of it and White Tooth, but I chose not to bring it. A mutual friend has it, so I might get a piece of it back in a year or two.

David - Stolen Heart is such a pretty one. I hope it survives the winter for you. I gave mine to daylily friends farther South, but I may get a piece of it back in the future. I have a lot of seeds with it as a parent. I love your photo of Super Model!

Nancy - Small World Fire in the Hole calls to me every time I see it. The clump shot is tantalizing. My other fave of yours is Something in My Teeth. You know I love Sun Temple Spirit and was remiss in not bringing it. Here's mine from last season:

I am interested in the Evick varieties, but they are always a question mark. He seems to introduce a lot. Comes from a snow-cover area.

Such a Flirt looks interesting. Do you like it better, David, than the Bennett cultivars with a midrib? Again, a hybridizer I am interested in, but don't want to spend years with a cultivar waiting to see outcome.

Spinal Tap was a bit shorter than usual. Not that tall to begin with.

Soli Deo Gloria was clean.

Small World Fire in the Hole, about 5 inches, likes a new location free from earwigs (it is early blooming). I wonder what people in general think about Small World cultivars.

Spirit of Hope is an older Korth. About 5 inches.

Sultry Girls had a good year. Not one of the best-performing Davissons otherwise.

Sputnik is a tall, earlier Davisson that has performed well.

Sinister Variations (a Hanson) should have gone, like Silver Sword, in the last group, I guess.

Soft Summer Night is another Stamile pink that is difficult to delete.

Supermodel has increased more. It can have nice flowers, though my preference is usually for flatter flowers.

Sword of Justice (Emmerich) is quite consistently good.

Star of India is an earlier bloomer that is well budded.

Soft Play (Hanson) is a shorter plant with flowers of heavy substance. Somewhat similar to Passing Fancy, but superior here. Of course, it's a tet.

Solar Fire is a tall Webster than is a big, showy, rather plain flower.

The old Stolen Treasure. Performance can be inconsistent, but it can throw beautiful flowrs.

Sweetest Name I Know was beautiful in a pot, but in scorched area last summer.

Mantis - Yes, Sweet Child of Mine is planted in my current yard. I chose to bring it with me instead of the similar No Boys Allowed. I also brought two fans of Sword of Justice, but I didn't have a picture of that one from 2024. It was a terrific performer in Nashville until the grubs got to it.

I also brought this seedling out of Sword of Justice and Warm in Winter.

I would love to add Small World Fire in the Hole at some point. I love your photo, and I always like Nan's pictures of it. I'm sure some of the Small World cultivars are great, and others are just average. I grew two of them for awhile. One died - one with a "blue" eye whose name I don't remember, and I eventually gave the other one away in a trade - Small World Snow Owl. Sultry Girls may not be Davisson's best performer, but it is one of her few cascades. I love the twirling, curling petals. A friend in KY grows it, and her clump was huge and well-budded last summer. I have it coming this Spring.
