    Love it!

Yes, there‘s lot going on and I was a little nervous, but I like it! I will say the natural light is very quiet and soothing, and the high ceilings give a lot of negative space, which doesn’t really come through in the pics but really helps it to not feel overwhelming.

Is this your own personal bathroom or done for someone else?

It's not nice to steal other people's pictures to pass off as your own.

Each item in this bathroom is nice, but the combination is ... less than pleasing.

The tree is clearly the star, and it's done well ... but nothing else in the room "points to the tree" or "mirrors the tree".

I agree that the natural light is nice.

The mirrors feel under-sized, and the big blue wall needs something more.

"the high ceilings give a lot of negative space"

    That part is true.

Why is Alice's phone number to a gay bar in Atlanta??

  • last year

Hmm, other lonely curious folk reached the Atlanta Humane Society.

@Mark Bischak, Architect - it’s my own personal bathroom. i said ”this time” just because we did a new bathroom on our old house some years back and it was much more restrained.

@Theresa Peterson - actually, the mirrors mirror the tree, as you can see in one picture. But I am guessing that isn‘t what you meant.

So, for me, the tree echoes the real trees you can see through windows. The white marble of the tree echoes the white marble of the floor tile, and the sinuousness of the tree roots is echoed in the curvy sconces. And there is rather a fair amount of natural wood in the furnishings, to continue with the theme.

I am honestly kind of baffled by what it would require for you to consider the tree to be sufficiently mirrored by its surroundings?

The mirrors are five feet tall. I am no photographer and they do look a little stingy in the head-on picture, but they're really not! i do agree that the walls need something for balance, I haven’t gotten to that yet.

    @McDonald Enterprises

I assure they are my own pics of my own bathroom. What on earth makes you say I stole them??

Also, no idea why anyone is reaching a bar or the humane society. Since I am not looking for business and try to limit unnecessary data to every site that asks for it, I put the old number for the current time and weather when it required me to put something. i called it just now to make sure it hadn’t been repurposed and it went to a message that the service was not available, as i would expect.

I love the tree. It would make me feel happy each time I saw it.

I know whose bath this is, and it is not yours.

Are you suggesting the OP is in wonderland?

I've seen this bathroom before - maybe while it was being constructed - but I thought it was a "reveal" showing the mosaic tree on the shower wall.

This is one of the strangest discussions I've seen on Houzz.

Monique, if you know whose bathroom it is, could you please explain?

  • last year

Seriously! I did post updated pics in an earlier post where I was asking for advice, and someone had asked me to follow up when finished so I did.

@Monique - please do share whose bathroom I have inadvertently cloned- I very curious!!

Do I need to post a picture of it with today’s newspaper or something?

  • last year

Alice - I may have asked you to post photos when you finished the project. I just clearly remember seeing the mosaic tree before - very unique! I had a feeling that maybe you made a prior post asking for some advice

@dani_m08 - you did comment on my other one- a nice long one with references to your own reno.

Now I am trying to decide if @Monique and @McDonald Enterprises are just trying to troll me (if so, they should be pleased as it is working) or if there really is another bathroom like mine, which i honestly would lile to see.

As I said, this is very strange.

Be that as it may, Alice, I applaud your creativity and willingness to take a risk and do what YOU want instead of worrying what others think. The tree mosaic is amazing and whoever installed it is incredibly talented.
