Entry to Dining

Our house has the garage entry into the dining room. This creates a lot of clutter on the dining room table as well as shoes everywhere. any ideas ? Thinking some kind of drop zone but I want it to look put together. We live in the country so i dont want to store shoes/coats in garage.
