Before/After MasterBath (light fixture help)

Hi. We have updated our master bath - removed wallpaper, hardware from the 1990s. The project was an update v/s demo and replace. The master shower is functional and will be staying at this point. There is not an easy replacement / expanding the walk in shower without a demo. We will reconsider a demo 5+ years out.

The bath faucets will be updated to matte black and I was looking for feedback on lighting options. I am considering the following for vanity and a fixture the center of the room. I've chosen black and brushed gold in an attempt to tie in the shower frame.

Please advise.

Here is a before/after (almost done) of the master bath with inspiration and ideas I've learned from the Design Dilemma respondents. Thank you for your valuable inputs that made this update project self serve. Scope included removing dated wallpaper, texture/painting, new bath hardware, faucets/fixture, lighting replacements, and integrating the old shower/tile (with brass frame) into the new look. Some lighting is WIP. I would love to hear thoughts and reactions.

Quite an improvement for sure.

Is your floor tile grout really that dark? I'm wondering if the floor tile and grout would benefit from a professional tile cleaning. Or you could try it yourself with a grout cleaner or steam cleaner made for tile cleaning.

I know you've said this was a refresh job rather than a demo, but would you consider replacing the counters and sinks? Undermount sinks are so much nicer and IMO makes the counters easier to clean. You've got quite a long expanse of counter but you could go to a stone fabricator and look at remnants to see if there is something in a reasonable price range that could work. I think it would make quite a difference to the look and feel of the space. And I think you'll find it is not cost prohibitive.

For light fixtures over your mirror......This Canarm Arlowe fixture is cute (link) of course, you'd need to have it run horizontal above the mirrors but it is close in style to the one you've chosen for your ceiling fixture.

Bring in some colour in your towels or some greenery (real or fake plants). Some folks like uncluttered counters (me!) but some folks are fine to have whatnots out. If you have stuff on your counters try to make it pretty stuff. Use pretty bottles or glassware to house your lotions and soap etc. I think life is short and you should surround yourself to the extent possible with pretty things that make you happy in your space.

I can understand removing the ceiling fan, but a sputnik style light fixture would not be my choice. a chandelier would be more suitable.

I wouldn't worry about the goldtone shower surround, it is not a focal point.

if you are set on the black faucets, go black with everything else. and add some color in linens and artwork.

Yes, a tile / grout cleaning service is planned and yes a countertop change will be considered with a kitchen counter change.

Thanks for the various ideas to further improve the space....I am pacing my happiness :) It is such a big difference for me.
