What's for dinner?

last year

I'm going to experiment and try making tempura in the air fryer, I've seen several online recipes for this. How about you?

Last night I made Marcella Hazan's Tomato Sauce over linguine and a big tossed salad.

I also made a chicken pot pie for dinner for tonight, using the Sally's Baking Addiction recipe. I was using up leftover crust (I only use a top crust). Shout out for this crust from Whole Foods; it is very good.

I'll be interested to hear how the tempura turned out. My family and I loved vegetable tempura when my kids were growing up. I haven't made it in years because of the deep frying.

I'm having Unexpected Chicken for dinner. No, it's not a recipe. I had a grocery order delivered, and it included a barbequed chicken that should have been delivered to someone else. The store sent out a driver with another chicken for them, and I got to keep this one.

Now that ^^ is a dinner I would love. My fave is pasta with veggies, and if there's shrimp too even better. And I love olives.

Pork tenderloin slow cooked with honey, soy, a bit of garlic and onions. Sweet potatoes are baking now and then I'll make cheesey broccoli cornbread. I know, I know, it sounds awful! It is the only my husband eats broccoli. It's a soft, moist bread and yummy. Friends introduced us to it.

Sue, I actually have not made chili at all this fall/winter! I need to make a pot before spring is here.

Thanks, jsk. I am almost always hungry. For late lunches I rarely have a plan, but start with bits of leftovers. I might be getting into a yummy garlic shrimp flavor rut because I made much the same thing two days ago. DH has better judgement and goes with yogurt and fruit.

What do you whip up for a lunch?

Sheeshie, the experiment is not going well. I'm going to fry in oil next time. It was worth experimenting but the tempura just did not turn out well.

What do you whip up for a lunch?

DH usually makes me a big pot of vegetable soup every week and I have that for lunch usually with an english muffin. And some olives because I love olives.

jsk, I love olives too. A lot. In fact, "olive" is an anagram for "I love."

ETA: Tonight is frittata/crustless quiche. I bake mine. Bacon, tomatoes, spinach, shallots, artichokes, extra-sharp cheddar/jack.
