The new formulas for paint seem to leave marks on the ceiling, no matter which one you choose. I have found that using regular wall paint in a flat white, and top quality, useing floetrol, to keep it from drying too fast, works the very best.

Wow, thank you so much. That's what I've been thinking but am feeling it's me not painting correctly. I've used BEHR stain-blocking ceiling paint with primer in flat white and it seems so thick and hard to use. I'm sure it's thick to cover better. My LR ceiling is not perfect by any means and it's 75 years old. I tried really hard to be consistent with application, to back roll lightly across the entire length each time. I primed the entire ceiling first with Zinsser 1-23 after repairing, sanding, patch-priming.. Maybe that needed a 2nd coat. I've now painted with BEHR 3 times. Twice in the same direction. Last was perpendicular. I had to thin the paint slightly with water.

Is their a brand of top white wall paint that you like? So the Floetrol is necessary too. What type of roller sleeve do you use and thickness? Thanks again.

We use Behr ceiling paint and tint it Cotton Fluff. 2 coats always. Never thin it with water.
