So - the house used to be white and was recently painted as shown in photo + you added landscaping? It doesn't look like new landscaping has been added - maybe it's just because it's died back during the winter?

I don't like how your front door/side door/garage are all painted white. The garage door and the side door would be better if they weren't highlighted by being white.

I would also select a color that pops for your front door.

I agree paint the front door a nice color, and the garage doors and the other door the same as the house. Your landscaping, looks to be a very narrow strip straight across the front. Enlarge it out a bit, and make some curves for interest, and some colorful plants put in.

Nothing looks good on a dreary winter day when the grass is yellow and the leaves are off the trees. Take a picture on a sunny day in the spring.

Yes the dreary day doesnt help. i added a 7x10 half-moon shaped area to the left of the front door, and added about12 flowering and evergreen perennials . i hear you a bigger area would make a difference. so do i paint the trim the same as house too?

Is there a tree in your yard? I see some branch tips on left side of pic but can’t tell if those are in your yard or where you’re standing. Would you add another pic showing all of left side of house & yard on that side? Landscape needs some height interest some where in front. Do you have house numbers anywhere by front door? Is there a walkway to front door from driveway that we can’t see?

Your window trim could be even better if it was a little wider. And keep it white.

It’s so much easier to critique the ideas of others than to come up with our own. 😁 It’s also much easier to ’see’ a change idea when you’re not living in the space. The detachment gives a different perspective. I was thinking about the suggestion to paint the garage door & the door next to it the same color as body of house - or, as dani said, better if not highlighted with the white paint color. I’m on the fence about garage door because the white is nice with the gray body of house. But, I do agree the door next to garage should be same color as house. Reason is that it faces same direction as front entry door & is so close to it & accessible from driveway. It’s the front door you want to emphasize & make more important. The white side door distracts. I’d say that even if you paint the front door a totally different color that ’pops’. Paint the side door to blend into the house. Then take a step back & think about garage door. A small detail I also noticed - the trash can by that side door should be moved if that’s where it always lives. No doubt it’s in a spot that’s convenient but trash cans are best out of sight - so - around the corner of house maybe? Even better, behind the fence if there’s a gate to move it in / out on trash day.

I agree with the above comment about landscaping. Green the grass up. The yard is empty. Needs some nice trees.

Any house can go beyond white trim and a bright door.

I can't tell if you have a path to the front door; all I can see is a path to a side door. And what does the far left side of the house look like? Perhaps a small ornamental tree off the left side with a bed connecting it to the house.

Whatever landscaping you have put in can't really be seen. All plants should be set far enough from the house that they won't touch it when mature and they should certainly not be under the roof overhang.

I was hoping it would be sunny today so I could take some pictures that depicted the actual color of my house, but it’s been raining all day. To the left of my house is a bush that flowers little white flowers in the spring and summer. Then halfway between the house and the road is a red Maple. I did find a picture looking at my house from the side with my flowers in bloom to give a better idea what it looks like in the summer.

Ideally you would widen the planting bed by moving your walkway away from your house and then you could include plants with a more substantial winter presence. Otherwise you could move your flowering perennials to the other side of your walkway by taking out some lawn and replace them with shrubs that look good all year but it doesn't look like a lot of room.

The planting bed is too tiny for much. Plants suffer from heat and dry right up against a house; the sun reflects off the house onto them and the roof overhang shelters them from rain. Neither of which is good.

If you can’t demolish the sidewalk and move it farther away from the house (like mojave said) create an additional flowerbed on the OUTside of the sidewalk and put your flowers there. Nice and wide, like 4’ or 5’. Where the red box is.

Wow that makes a big difference. i like the path a lot. i also like the large house numbers i want to do a color consult like Dan1888 suggested i really dont like the white. but maybe the other changes will draw my eye away from the white

Yes you can do dark trim and it's beautiful on this house. With the side door and garage door the color of the house, the house appears wider, more cohesive.

You can have a rich color for the front door this way. I chose Aubergine for you lol.
