Hi, I am a new homeowner (first time having a backyard) and looking for ideas to make our backyard into our own. Here is a basic drawing of the layout, as well as photos of what it looks like. Note that the former owners left with the furniture, so none of the outdoor furniture is there anymore. Also, the pictures have been slightly edited for privacy reasons. Note that this is in southern Ontario, so the pictures show summer but we also have to deal with cold seasons !

Our goal is to make this into a space where we can work outside on our laptops, so I'm looking for ideas on how we can set up the furniture to allow this. Also, we have two kids under 4 years old. The former owners had teenagers, so a very different vibe; so I'm looking for ideas on how to set up the backyard for kids (swingset? Sandbox?).

Also looking for suggestions on how to maximize use during colder seasons, i.e. exterior heating options.

Any ideas / suggestions are welcome!
