Not to worry on actually making croissants, these are typically done with day old pastry and David says you can buy (butter) grocery store croissants the brush with the sugar syrup, fill and topwith frangipane, sprinkle with sliced almonds,and bake.

@lisaam, those almond croissants sound divine, but I’m so lazy, I happy with Trader Joe’s almond croissants!
