backsplash paint

The house we bought has a green bead board backsplash in the kitchen. I don’t dislike it at all and am not set on changing but I would like opinions on another color option that would help bring some brightness to the space.

Primary walls are Sw alabaster. Was thinking about how accessible beige might look in its place? I don’t know what color the green is as we weren’t left any paint. It is also the only spot in the house with this color so keeping it from that standpoint isn’t really an issue.

Open to other earthy green suggestions too that maybe have a slightly warmer tone? Unless we have direct sun coming into that window it just gets a little dark.

Thoughts appreciated!

Your counters are really beautiful and the dark splash just cuts them off in a weird way. I like the color, just not in this instance. I agree to go with lighter. I'd have to see a swatch of accessible beige or some kind of taupe to see what it looks like. You have to consider your floor tile in this selection.

by all means lean into the blue in the pretty floor tiles. You space is traditional w white raised cabinets , the plate rack, farmhouse sink , etc.

bring home paint swatch cards in light blue and tape them right up......about the shade of these cabinets or even paler...maybe more blue- gray......not sure..

the window setting is attractive w the porcelain farmhouse sink and deep window.....later on you could add a sconce or 2 above for extra detail.

Yes, definitely need some swatching. I hadn’t considered blue though, only natural linen or accessible beige. I’ll think about that!

As for the light, totally agree. I found a really pretty handmade pendant that I haven’t pulled the trigger on but think at some point would look nice in that space instead of what’s there!

Can you replace the wall of plate rack with a cabinet? You have a lot of stuff on your countertops and decluttering will help; and the blue would be a pretty change.

Before changing the color install under counter lighting. use LED tape so the light is consistent across the whole run of counters.

I'd paint it the color of the cabinets. I don't think you need to introduce another color in here, especially not in an inch wide stripe above the window.

Two best choices in my mind:

Paint it to match the off white above the cabinets

Paint it either the same blue or a slightly lighter shade of the blue on the walls of the adjoining room.

Would love to see the adjoining room. Not sure I fully understand the choice to beak the color where it is broken.
