Opinion around mirror in bathroom

I want to add color around my large mirror in my recently updated bathroom and the color that I want to add is black. Should I just paint around the mirror on this wall or should I add my next favorite thing which is some beadboard? And if it's beadboard how should I do my molding? If I paint should I just mold out my mirror?

Show the entire bathroom as beadboard really does not go that high up. As noted above, frame the mirror in black. Do you have storage as I would declutter as well and not keep that much on the vanity top.

No beadboard. Just frame your mirror and paint the frame black.

You can buy all kinds of wood trim pieces to cut to fit around your mirror. Measure, cut, paint, and mount.

The sconces will probably have to be moved out a bit.

I would keep it simple. You can do a frame from this company, which used to be very popular in these forums when most bathrooms had large plain mirrors behind the sinks.

Thoughts:

- I love beadboard, but it doesn't seem right for this project.

- Yes to painting the wall but NO to painting the wall black. Go with a black mirror frame (which will make more difference than you'd expect) and bring in color for the walls.

- Alternately, use wallpaper to get color + texture.

- Since you like black and you already have black accents in the room, but sure your shower curtain has touches of black somewhere -- but not solid black. Too much of a good thing, you know.

- Choose your shower curtain carefully, as it will be reflected in the mirror -- it'll kinda count twice.

- The sconces are too close to the mirror and a bit too high.

Frame your mirror. Make sure to paint the underside because a narrow part will reflect in the mirror.
