Are you still planning on sharing this home or has that gon by the wayside? Putting a bathroom where your closet is is amajor job since running new plumbing can be a huge expense for not much benefit. My thought is do as little as possible to make this work so bump into the master enough to get a tub and a shower leave the other as a tub shower combo . I always try to keep plumbing in the same area if possible .

The master bedroom looks plenty big so you could push the bathroom footprint 4' or to the window, to include a built in (not freestanding) tub and the shower and toilet don't change position.

Thank you both and Thank you Patricia for remembering as it was on my old account that for some reason has been stalled and I can access it but any new posts do not show. Yes the house sharing is still on the table but the timeline is up in the air so I will be moving forward with my ensuite and will not touch the main bathroom till I have to. The simple plan is to put a door in the hallway and move the master suite door. It does not change anything else in the house. Here is the plan for the separation. Because the separation is going to be simple I can put more funds into the bathroom. I have attached an idea to expand the ensuite into the master to create enough room for a shower and tub. What do you think of this by keeping the toilet in the same location? Any other layout ideas is appreciated.

The door to bedroom should be away from the public spaces. And in any scenario, it seems the double reach-in closet can be easily moved for more opportunities.

In Scheme A, it may prove better to rearrange Bath 2 for more opportunities for the Master Bath + Closet layout. Not sure about keeping Bath 2 intact for a phase 1 construction though. A more exact drawing and more info about work involved (e.g. plumbing over basement, moving windows, etc) would lead to answers.

In Scheme B it also seems that making the Master Bedroom smaller in any configuration will put it fairly equal in size to the other bedrooms. In that case, that doesn't limit you to keep the same location. It may prove to have opportunity for better layouts on the Master Bath + Closet with this in mind.
