There were only 2 of these slabs available I dont think there would be enough for the backsplash but I hadnt considered that before.

Sonoma Stellar tile comes in a lot of colors and shapes. We used Boka in Smoke.

Agree with clt3, Sonoma Tile has some great patterns and lots of colors.

I think go look at large format tile in a color from the slab and let the slab be the star .

If possible, wait until the cabinets and countertop are installed so you can look at backsplash tiles in your space with your flooring and lighting to make a final selection.

I’d wait on the backsplash unless you go with the countertop material. This way you can sample some tiles in the space tiles

The one trend in kitchen design I really like is the backsplash and the counter being the same material. It's so ironic as this is what we had to fix when we moved in!

The trend doesn't work if you chose the wrong color!!! hahahaha

Here's my logic for this challenge. If there are 4 slabs available what would be the best choice for long-term enjoyment? Establishing this goal should focus your efforts. Don't give up. Talk to the stone yard to see the schedule for more product. There will be a time frame. Investigate other sources to see more supply. The one stoneyard is just a distributor, not the producer. Put more effort into getting your best long-term goal. You'll receive benefits every day for the efforts.

@dan1888 if there were more slabs the counters and backsplash being the same wouldn't be my first preference. The idea of it sounds nice but I do like seeing a tiled backsplash.

Take samples to the slab with a door to see what works. If you're happy with the door and slab tones together, wait until both are installed in your lighting environment to do the sample evaluation.
