Fireplace design and inspiration needed
I’m desperate for inspiration and ideas for our fireplace. We are getting an electric insert installed. We just ripped off shiplap from the top part of the fireplace (as seen in photo). We were hoping brick was underneath, but there’s wasn’t.
I like the all brick top to bottom look, so we thought to install the thin brick, then Paint the entire thing one color. But, not sure what color.
Need ideas and inspiration on the tile in front of the fireplace that we want to replace. We love the star tile (as pictured).
Any ideas and suggestions are welcome! Not sure if this would be too light/white? Not sure how to spice it up.

If you add brick veneer to cover the exposed wall, it will not match the bricks at the bottom and will look odd. Paint the wall and do something dramatic with the electric fireplace insert to keep your focus on the fireplace, not the wall.
A custom surround like this will change the proportions of the fireplace opening to better match the brick surround. I have many fireplace treatments that are not nearly this elaborate, but I just thought I'd show you some real eye-candy.
