I would paint all the porch components white to match your trim. It all looks unfinished in the raw wood- I know it’s very trendy to have cedar posts due to the magnolia effect.

"I would think that to comply with the regulations, you need to install a railing along the front porch. I also suggest you paint the columns & any porch trim in white like the trim on the house.

I agree on the white paint on the railings. I would also add something a bit more colorful on your chairs etc on the porch, but, the most important thing would be to move the steps over to the right a few inches, and get some much needed railings across the front of that porch, before someone gets hurt badly, when they step off it. Since its all blacktop out there, add some big colorful pots of flowers.
