This is Celeste’s seedling. My little kitty broke the first scape but it has put up four more scapes. Looking forward to seeing later blooms.

So many gorgeous blooms! I dont grow roses so it is nice to see yours. Love the violas…..I have had them reseed and pop up somewhere in the garden through our nasty winters.

I am so far behind that it's driving me crazy. I haven't made much of a dent in refreshing my potted daylilies yet and you all are already talking about scapes. I hope I get done before they start showing up. Rain, rain and more rain means my old bones ache and my need to can't keep up with my can do. I probably won't be on here much until I get caught up, but had to take a peek today to see what everyone's got going.........And Kate do you have things going on. I love your roses best. I remember how much I liked your Summer Romance, and it still calls to me. The Violas are my second favorite. I lost all of my violas and pansies over winter (as usual) but had to buy a color pot of them early this spring to get my fix in.....I just ran to a little nursery today and was hoping to find the Dianthus as in your picture - same color. They had sold out they said. I am amazed at how mine have held up over the years in a droughty position facing the almost unbearable sun of summer. The Clematis is a beauty...........Maryl

Yes, Sherry, the violas do reseed and pop up in the yard. Funny, though, I only see the blooms in the grass! I have been unsuccessful in transplanting them.

Maryl, I thought the violas might not survive our frequent below freezing span of days but they surprised me by not only surviving but thriving! Summer Romance is indeed lovely! I pruned it in February and it has seriously already grown two feet! The dianthus is 5-7 years old and still going strong and still spreading. I hope you find your replacement for yours.

Nice grouping of blooms. Interesting that you had success rooting a rose. Dianthus is somethng I should thnk about as an edging plant.

Lovely Kate! I love that pink rose and the Clematis is a winner too. So glad your season has started too. I am so jealous because it is just too hot for the peonies to bloom here and I love them. They used to bloom but it has gotten hotter earlier and no luck the last two or three years.

Kay, I only have a few peonies. Their bloom does not last long enough to warrant spending money on a few days of bloom. I think they are lush but I had rather have that space for something else! I always loved Kentucky Nancy’s huge gardens of peonies in bloom.

Pretty blooms! I love them all. The iris here are just getting started. We haven't seen peonies or roses yet here. I love the violas. Keep those photos coming.

Hooray, your daylily season has begun! You have so much blooming right now! The peony is so pretty! I'm surprised peonies fade. Mine have buds that are getting large. They may start blooming by the end of next week. I don't know what color they will be. The buds are a dark reddish purple, but I've seen pictures where buds are that color and they bloom pink or white. I love the blue and white iris and the pink and yellow rose!

Nancy, photos will keep coming! Had another daylily bloom today and scapes are everywhere!

Debra, I never had peonies fade like this either. Here is a picture with all the colors on it!

The peony looks like Coral Charm. Here, tree peony Shimane Otone Mai is just finishing up. The lost mother rose seems to be Peace.

Mantis, what a stunning peony! Love it!!

Not sure Peace was the rose. The bush was v-form and extremely ”bushy”. Not sure I ever had a name on it but I have seen Peace in other gardens and they did not look like mine. Of course, that is one if the traits of Peace! Other photos:

Yes, not Peace from the other photos. I think I like the shrub rose, with its changing colors, the best.
