CURTAIN HELP.. ideas please

last year
last modified: last year

I need help, please. We recently had our house painted using B.M. Silver Santin. We have dark floors and most of our furniture is light grey or white. We are looking to get some drapes for our back door but need ideas. We are opened to any design, but can't think of a colour or pattern that will look good without it clashing with our other colours. Not sure if a bold pattern will work... We do want to stay away from drapes with thrle rings on top....any help with be much appreciated.

Thank you, these look nice. I'm located in canada, would you have any recommendations for where I can find similar styles (without having to pay duties or exchange)

Ikea. Looks like a 96” curtain will work well. Hang curtains on the doors and windows, and you need two sets per side to get enough fullness. On the door wall the curtain will go corner to corner. The easiest and cheapest curtain rod is plumbers pipe painted white. My supply house will cut it to length at no charge. (It’s 22’ long)

@chispa I wanted to get a brushed gold rod, but most rings are silver.. so not a fan of the different mixed metal colours

@HALLETT & Co. We were looking at a brushed gold rod. Also, what cokour would you suggest

If you don't want to spend too much, look at Ikea curtains. they can be hung with or without rings, available in different colours, sheer of blackout. I would bring some colour into the room.

The Eames chair seems stuck in the corner behind the sectional, is it possible to bring it forward where the arrow is pointing?

@lisedv Yes, we can definitely move the chair over to that spot. Thanks so much. Given thr colours in our room, what colour drapes and accessories would you recommend

Drapes should be light neutral. Linen, off white. They add texture and depth. I would add Roman shades to the windows.

Is the rod a feature of the room you want to bring attention to? Fine if it is but I just don’t see the rod as being a design element in your space, white would be fine.

Personally, I like a light neutral like a creamy white. You can pick something that has some texture like linen. Since you don't have any decor in the room, having the curtains neutral doesn't limit your choice of colour in accessories. Above I showed green but I have no idea of what colours you have in the adjoining dining or kitchen area. Show me more, I'll suggest more... Is there any specific colour you like? For example you can pick a painting and go from there to choose accent pillows for the sectional.

You can certainly get rings in most finishes, but you need to look at more specialized suppliers.

In my previous house, master bedroom hardware from Houle, all in brushed "gold". The photo looks lighter, but the rings were a perfect match. You could also get a clear ring as an option.

You already have white blinds in the two windows and need nothing more there.

Your furniture is modern and minimal. I don't see a highly decorative rod as part of this room's scheme, nor would I want a pop of color. A grey textile feels sophisticated and layered in this room.

I like this graphite weave or gray on grey pinstripe in a crisp pinch pleat from the Shade Store with a more sleek modern rod. The rings really disappear into the rod.

I like your chair and ottoman by the glass doors. I appreciate feeling like there is a separate area to the room.
