Outlet cover help on backsplash

I am installing Pure 3x9 glass tile in ivory as my back splash. I am at a loss as to what to use as my outlet cover. I thought I would be able to find a clear glass cover, but so far everything is the wrong color or mirrored. Any ideas?

If you really don't want the outlets to show (and you haven't tiled yet and can move electrical) you could consider plugmold.

Check out Lutron for both the plug and the plate. A clear one would not be good BTW .

Why do you want a clear glass cover plate? So everyone can see the outlet box, wires, screws, drywall through the clear material?

There is a limit to how matchy-matchy it is practical to be with outlets, because even if you paint the cover to match the backsplash, the outlet (receptacle) itself is not going to match.

There is also a limit to how much anyone else will care if the outlet is matchy-matchy, and that limit is very low - like, no-one will care in the slightest.

I'd choose cover and receptacle in whatever color plastic is closest, and call it good.

May we ask why you are opting for a clear cover? As noted, you would see all the wiring, hardware, etc.

A standard cover should suffice. Perhaps in an ivory to compliment your glass tile.

I thought the clear would let the color of the tile show through….guess I didn’t think that through. I really would just prefer it blend in rather than stand out I guess.

This might be a dumb question... but have you tried googling up "clear glass outlet cover"? I did, and found multiple options. Also, if your tile is a clear glass tile with a color backing, any cover isn't going to really look like that, even a clear one. You would need to color match that backing and back the plate with that color to make it match. That's often the case it seems- the clear glass cover is backed with something rather than used on it's own.

An example is this. A thread from a decade ago where a person took a photograph of the actual tile and mounted it to the back of a clear cover to make it match. Note that they have covered up the whole of the electrical box with the image so the tile looks perfect behind the cover. In this case, it's a clear glass tile with a beige backing color on it.

I know you said you’re looking for something that blends in more. But I wonder if you can do just the opposite and do something more showy and bold. I saw these the other day. And think they’re gorgeous. I hope to incorporate them in some of my projects soon.
