We are building a home in the mountains of Colorado, trying for a mountain home feel. Kitchen has darker cabinets with black soapstone counters and a white quartzite countertop on island. Antique copper range hood. Kitchen will have coffered ceiling. Each room is separated by a 2’ support beam. Floors are going to be a shade or two lighter. Should the timber stain be lighter or darker than the floors? I know colors in photos are not true but I attached just as an example.
