I don't know why no one ever answered this post but the landscape looks very nice. I would add another similar gravel planting area at the corner of the driveway and sidewalk in your photo.

It appears the rock and bushes are brand new. Time will improve the look. I would suggest you plant another tree or two in the yard. What's there is pretty low maintenace so w/o knowiing more than we do it doesn't make sense to talk about higher maintenance plants that would give some color.
