Has anyone ever used folex (carpet cleaner)?

So, after my dog threw up on my carpet today, I began looking at carpet cleaners online. I always like to get opinions from others before i buy something, and for that reason I LOVE reddit. Say what you will about it, but when I need an honest opinion on something reddit is a good place to look. Anyways, i found a thread there today where everyone was raving about this 'folex' carpet cleaner (which can also be used on clothing stains apparently). So, what's your experience with folex (if any)? Does it work as well as everyone says?

I've used it but I have also found other products work better. Particularly the ones that contain "oxy".

Someone here or on the Home Decor Conversations forum recommended it and I've been using it for a few years. I had used Spot Shot which worked OK but the aerosol propellant would fizz out before the product was used up - leaving me with a useless half full can. I've never tried it on clothes.

DId you search here on GW to see what others may have posted?

I haven’t tried it on clothes but on carpet and upholstery it has become my go-to. Even very old stains, might not come out all the way but much, much better.

I’ve never been without Folex since my MIL suggested it years ago. Kind of amazing what it can do.

I've always had good results with Resolve Spot and Stain for spot cleaning.

Off white carpet in 6 rooms although I recently replaced the one in my office with taupe....much better! I went from taupe walls with white carpet to taupe carpet with white walls and its working out so much better! My office is the first room you enter from the garage and DH and his friends were in and out checking sports scores etc - not always with clean feet,

I don't have a pet right now, I do have an upright Bissel cleaner with a 'pet mess' setting, We did about three rooms using their cleaning formula with oxy for pet messes and had great results.

I much prefer Resolve. I had bought Folex after all the positive recommendations; however, I was unimpressed with the job it did. I find a combination of using Nature's Miracle for the initial cleaning and then finishing with Resolve does an excellent job.

FWIW, I never had any luck with Resolve for our cat’s ”episodes.” I’m pretty sure I tried one specifically for pets. Maybe that was why…? Folex got it all out.

I remember several years ago hearing people rave about Folex. I have it, and it's ok. I don't get the great results so many of you do.

We recently bought that Bissell Green Machine and DH used it in the basement where the dog goes to throw up on carpet. It seems to work very well. I keep saying I've got to watch a few youtubes of it to see what to do because I have some spots upstairs in the hallway and our bedroom, which need addressing. I'll update when I get around to that. I did try Folex and it did nothing.

Cat food barf is usually yellowish and it doesn't take the discoloration out, even when used right away.

I've had amazing results with folex. I generally saturate and scrub. I have dogs, not cats, but it handled all the puppy accidents and occasional barf episodes. It also helped with slime and marker in DD's playroom.

I've also tried nature's miracle, resolve, and vinegar. Resolve was probably the worst of them but ymmv.

For the cat barf, I have a bottle of Incredible. It does a good job on it. Not 100% but pretty close.

Everyone I know recommended Folex. It took the color out of my carpet. Please test it in an area where it can't be seen first.

I use Folex for kitty accidents and I like it a lot. It seems to work well on my carpet.

Folex doesn’t work for me on cat barf, either. I gave my bottle away after finding it useless. I use My Pet Peed for all cat vomit. No scent left behind and no fading of the carpet.

My late MIL gave me a bottle years ago for carpet stains, I still use Folex today.

Agree with this write up based on my own experience.
