Front and back...I'd add 2 "Orange Rocket Barberry" Bushes. They're a perennial...and have a nice columnar form. You need height and color. What you have now is boring. If you want to continue with subtle...boring ...put in 2 purple Veronicas...it's in the sage family....also a perennial.

I’d add something with vibrant color and durability. Consider adding petunias (like Supertunias or Wave types) for a spilling effect and lots of blooms

What you have there now doesn't do much for me. I'd rather see three hardy perennials than scads of annuals.

I imagine you're going for a cool colour scheme with the whites and greys. That could work but I'd add a few more of the same types to hide more of the mulch. Although, personally, I'd not use annuals at all. A similar but permanent effect could be achieved with some silver leaved white flowered Dianthus.

Why just one corner? The whole flower bed would be impressive filled in with plants. They look too close to the foot traffic and will encroach when mature.

It's hard to get a sense of scale but they also look like they will crowd each other. Move them further back and plant small ones in front.

Just a brief correction. Veronica is not in the Sage family.

Thanks Everyone! This is my little spot to have fun with annuals. I have lots of perennials other places and recognize their value. The Dianthus is a good idea as is petunias. This is the very first year for this bed so it is a fun journey of discovery and trying things. Off to the local nursery today...

The Dianthus should be perennial and evergreen. But perhaps not in Ontario.

I'd like to see a deep, rich purple/blue mixed in. White is blah against silver foliage, but deep purple is spectacular -- the colors play off each other. I'd move the white salvia somewhere else and replace with a deep purple. That color salvia should be easy to find, but there's also heliotrope to consider. Or, if you don't want a deep purple, try a hot pink annual -- that color will also pop with the silver dusty miller.

Thanks folks. The hot pink is going in. I got a few things to try out as this is a new bed in a new area. I will create a pleasing 'tester' garden this year and see what takes off.

Reporting back: the million bells petunias and sunpatiens were the winners. Always blasting out blooms and they really took off in this location. The dusty miller did well but I didn't really need the height.

I love sunpatiens, they are terrific plants.
