I am trying a recipe I saw on FB yesterday -- sheet pan fish tacos (w/halibut)

This is a trial run before I visit SO -- he loves halibut and tacos.

Simple Curry-Honey Chicken since I’ve got some chicken pieces. Mix melted butter with honey, curry and salt/pepper. Coat chicken and bake...done.👍🏻

    Cod poached in coconut milk.

I’ll use a red pepper not Fresno, because thats what I have. Add some crushed red pepper. Double the spinach, and use light coconut milk.

Left over Manicotti and some garlic knots from Aldi. Maybe some Broccolini florets from the garden if I find some ready to harvest when I check after it stops raining.

I’m hosting book club, but since I’m still non weight bearing (broken tibial plateau) I’m taking them to an Italian restaurant. We’ll come back here for mini cannolis and chocolate covered strawberries (purchased).

    Sounds yummy, all of it.

Porkandham, I hope you’re recovering well. How did you happen to fx your tibial plateau? Sounds very painful.

Yesterday I made a new-to-me recipe - Old fashioned Jewish pot roast. It was delicious and there are lots of leftovers for dinner today. A major bonus was that there was very little hands-on work and the house smelled heavenly all afternoon!

@petalique I had flat foot reconstruction sugery about 18 months ago. I was at PT for that, and we were working on jumping. Very low boxes. I jumped off a 6 inch box, and the impact broke the tibial plateau. Very painful, but I got lucky and didn’t need surgery. No cast or brace, but I’m NWB for 3 months. It was just a freak accident.

  • last year

Definitely freak accident. Good to hear you did not need surgery. Beat of luck with your continued healing.

Tibial Plateau — sounds like the answer to a geography question.

Porkandham, I hope your recovery is uneventful. Be careful for the next 3 months.

Nothing for dinner. We had mushroom croquettes, ham croquettes, crunchy potatoes, Albóndigas, shaved brussel sprouts with cranberry and orange, and some sort of really moist olive oil cake that had no frosting, but sat on top of an orange yogurt concoction that was out of this world. She also wanted to try a ham of some sort and burrata grilled cheese sandwich. It had an aoili with it. I'm stuffed! 2nd day of vacation, one more to go.

    Porkandham, I'm sorry!

I'm letting DH decided what we're eating. We were in Seattle yesterday and I have fresh shucked Hama Hama small oysters purchased on the way home, and while not a huge lasagna fan I do sincerely love the meat version at Pasta and Co in Bellevue WA. Bought enough for a dinner for two. We could eat it tonight or tomorrow night, I'm leaving it up to him.

I am about to prepare a pretty standard meatloaf- egg, onions, bread crumb, salt, papper pepper, garlic with tomato sauce and pecorino romano on top. Brown rice and broccoli will accompany it.

Fresh King Salmon filet, locally grown organic asparagus (not a lot of local asparagus available for purchase here, so it's a real treat), roasted new potatoes, cherry tomatoes. Trader Joe's Honey Pearl grapes for dessert. These might be the best grapes, ever.
