AS the other appliances need to be replaced get SS. Get the refrigerator counter depth. Clear the clutter from the counters.

@jck910 yes appliances will be replaced when needed its not cheap to replace all at once but i will replace in future with stainless steel.

I would look into a different style for handles that fit the same holes. Those ones scream commercial or break room. If you change styles it'll look more home-y.

have you already purchase the ceiling light?

Do you need to cover a large hole from the existing fixture?

If a tile backsplash is out of the budget, I would paint the area above the countertop and below the upper cabinets and behind/above the stove. The white is very stark.

What if the floor were white. I am not a DIYer, but before I post my idea I read a couple of posts about painting over tile. Bottom line is to easy the correct products and apply after you scrub the floor. After that, comments were that the job was easy.

Make sure those bulbs are all LED 4000K the black appliances suck light , do big purge to get a home for all the counter clutter and no peel and stick ever unless you ;love the cheap look Yes all stanless and counter depth fridge for sure It looks like the backspash matches the counter so leave it ans asome suggested maybe a nice color for that space

Ensure that any peel -n- stick tiles are heat and humidity resistant.

Lose the cabinets over the sink.:)

Extend the hardwood into the kitchen

    in the meantime?

Save money and don’t peck at in home Joe attempts.

    Stainless appliances too.

I like the idea of new cabinet hardware - you could also try to declutter countertops, adding a rug could help break up the floor and a small lamp can add nice evening light

  • last year

@la_la Girl what cabinet hardware would you recommend same color just more modern ? or diff color? yes under the cabinet over sink do have touch light that can be on at night

Waaay too much stuff on the counters! It’s the first thing that catches your eye before noticing any of your improvements.

Cab hardware is pretty personal - I would order a few options and see what you like- I normally don't like black hardware but I wonder if in this space it helps connect cabs to appliances?

I agree that removing the cabinets above the sink would make your room look more spacious. This is probably a long-term project for you as the budget seems limited at this point. Replace all appliances with stainless steel, and also suggest you install a white metro style backsplash.

Replacing the ceiling neon with a tracklight is a good idea but I suggest a more stylized model in a straight line, not curved.

I was also going to suggest removing the uppers above the sink. It will make such a big difference.

Get sized to fit boxes for the cubby holes, and use to store meds and other small items. Put objects

@lisedv i googled metro back splash it shows like rectangle subway tile style in white is that what you where recommending?

I like a glossy backsplash tile in your case as there doesn't seem to be much natural light and it will bring brightness in the room. I you don't have under cabinet lighting, that's also something to consider.

@lisedv whats your opinion on DIY glassy contact paper in white for cabinets vs painting and vinyl peel and stick wood for floor? in kitchen and the bathrrom design you sent me

  • PRO
    last year

Sorry but not following.... You want to paint the cabinets or cover in contact paper? and I don't see any cabinets with glass doors for you to install frosted glass contact paper. You want to install peel & stick to the floor? I don't think any of this is a good idea. Sorry!

  • last year

@lisedv yes im asking what if i cover the cabinets with contact paper instead of painting. but ok the flooring you dont think is a good idea ok.

    NO!

I thinm you are focused on the cabinets bc there is not much else in the room - leave the cabs alone and just replace the hardware, then improve other parts of the room
