I love timber framed homes but I do not love huge timber framed spaces only in one part of the home and IMO any ceiling over 10' is ahuge issue for so many things and for sure when only done in one space . I have no idea what a high performance home is but those panels seem to be a good way to cut labour costs but only your achitect should be making that decision .

I'll agree that you have no idea what constitutes a high performance home, and I respectfully disagree with your assertion that the architect should be making the decision about the panels. The architect is likely to have little insight with regard to construction labor and current costs. This is particularly the case when the homes are all unique, custom designs. In my experience, the best custom home designs are produced by a collaborative effort of client, architect, builder, and trade contractors. The collective role of team members is to help the OP understand costs vs. benefits of various alternatives so they--the OP-- can make informed choices.

The OAP panels are pre-fabricated, stick-framed (structural) panels. If the home is 100% timber framed, structural panels are only required for the roof. SIPs would be a better alternative.
