I love the clumps!!! Cloud of Witnesses, Deep Dark Duck, Flight of Orchids & Which Way Jim are especially outstanding! Too bad Deep Dark Duck is usually so short. Is Hot Seat small? I gives that appearance.

Brad, I al so happy to see Deep Dark Duck finally blooming above the foliage. And, I have never seen that little edge on it. It really was quite striking today. Hot Seat is small and short. It is a Maryott so has not multiplied a great deal in all the years I have had it but it is a striking bloom. This is the best it has ever looked.

Flight of Orchids is fabulous! Pink Panther Paws looks wonderful. I like Southern ruffles. and Sweet Suzanne. I like your Reimer too.

All of those clumps are fabulous! I dont remember Southern Cotton with such saturated color, so pretty. Hot Seat caught my attention today, like the different color combination.

What a beautiful clump you have of Flight of Orchids! Love that little garden shot. Nice shot of which Way Jim. I have not seen mine in a couple of years, it is in a bed that is so tight, it may have gotten smothered out. Love Pink Panther Paws. Reminds me of Lotus Position, which I love but has never done that well here.

My friend is asking what you use to spray for those bugs? She used Bayer spray.

I'll say wowzer on the clump pics. Your season is going strong with so many beauties. Hard to pick favorites in this grouping but your Flight of Orchids is a winner.

Sherry, colors have been more saturated this year in my opinion. No thoughts on why but more saturated and less splotching.

Thanks for the wonderful pics. Such a massive display on Flight of Orchids. Here, it has made a listless flowering the last couple of years, but previously did better. I look forward to seeing Which Way Jim. I am a big fan of Geneva Fire Truck, which is vigorous and (to me) showy here. Pink Panther Paws is a good performer here too.

At a friend's garden, deer have been a big problem this year (my own is fenced in). I wonder what you are using to deal with them.

Mantis, I hope Which Way Jim performs well for you. I think I have taken photos of it every day since it has bloomed.

Deer-ugh! I have mentioned in the past our land abuts a national forest so deer are more than plentiful-they are abundant and unafraid. A neighbor witnessed a fawn frolicking with one of my cats one day! Our State gardening expert, a retired university horticultural professor, garden radio host, author of numerous books, and national garden consultant says there is only one sure deer deterrent: a fence. My acreage is too large for a fence and well outside my budget so I have to find other options. A long winded paragraph to ”land the plane” but this is what I do. In the spring while rains are frequent I use milorganite and sprinkle it heavily around garden edges and lightly throughout the garden. It really stinks when wet but only close to the ground. It is not offensive to the nose to walk around in the garden! After the rains become normal I rotate repellents like Bobbex, Deer Out, Deer Away, etc. using some sprays and some pellets. Today, storms came and I did the milorganite treatment again. So far I have only had the one nightly visit.

So many nice clumps there! I'm still wowed by Flight of Orchids and Pink Panther Paws. Glad to know the deer are staying away for now!
