Design Dilemma Home Decorating Kitchens

New range hood design and color

I plan to replace my range hood which is the 1st photo-white with black island cabinets. I want to keep a fresh airy feel. I like the shape of the hood in the 2nd photo how the range hood is reaching all the way to the ceiling, but for my kitchen I think the hood should be white, not black. I think there is enough black with the cabinet doors, window trim and island. What do you think?

i think the proportions are better with what you have. the glass cabinetry is where one looks.....the sconces are scaled correctly ......everything gets looked at differently with the hood you are contemplating....due to dimension and all black. its not that you cant but it will alter the wall features. i like the way the existing hood seems nestled in there but not dominant.

id consider different window shades..color..pattern? thats about it / but good luck.

pretty green shades or whatever you may like for the 2 windows.
