What's for dinner?

last month

Involved in a home furniture project, don't wanna cook, so I'm defrosting some wonderful chicken broccoli cheese soup I made last week, with maybe a salad. How about you?

Just putting it together now. My daughter and SIL will be here soon.

We’re having an open fire and roasting kubiesausage. I’ve made a Greek salad that I haven’t added the dressing to yet.

Giant raisin cookies and sweet cherries from Turkey over vanilla ice cream for later

Bocce game later on. Happy father’s day. It’s a beautiful day.🤠

I'll see if DH will roast potatoes on his grill. I have some meat marinating in sort of an Asian style made-up-not-recipe marinade and will make kabobs of just the meat, not vegetables.

I have some lovely asparagus and plenty of green things to make a salad - all of it fast if he'll do the actual cooking and he never objects.

It's a yard work day. All a sudden (or I wasn't paying attention) I'm being overrun with self sown cotoneaster and have much to cut back, some to dig clear out.

I have flank steak marinating and was going to fix roasted garlic new potatoes, asparagus and corn on the cob for my son and grandson, but the pump on our community well is acting up and intermittently I have no water. Our pump guy can’t come until tomorrow, so I had to cancel dinner.

Beautiful day here too. Grilling a bavette and veggies. I already made this for a side:

I don't have my own Mac and Cheese recipe. When the kids were growing up, i'd toss cooked elbows with a bit of garlic butter, throw it in a pie plate, then sprinkle shredded cheese over it, and broil it. That was actually quite good, esp if you like a crunchy top.

I made this recipe for the first time to have with dinner tonight. I think it's very good. The Gruyere makes it.

    It's uhh, not light

We went to a local father’s day event at a brewery for lunch — they had food trucks, live music, and games. I would like to report that middle DS and I won cornhole vs DD and her BF. So nice to have everyone together for the afternoon, but now everyone has left and DH and I have no dinner plan so we’ll probably just have some leftovers from the fridge.

One of DH's favorites. Onion and zucchini slices, sauteed in butter with garlic. At the end I sometimes add shrimp for just a couple of minutes (which I will today). Then I turn the burner off, toss in chunks of fresh tomato, stir, top with grated cheddar and Monterey jack and put the lid on just until the cheese melts. He's easy to please. And it is really tasty.

SO grilled t bone steaks, hamburgers and hot dogs. I did not make any sides. He is the type to not want to light the grill unless he cooks enough food for 10 people to live on for 3 days. So nothing else needed.

    We went out to eat!

Daddy had a French dip, Lola had well cooked salmon with sweet potato fries and slaw, Ben had chicken tenders with a cookie (ain't it fun to be young!), April had a club sandwich, I don't know what Mark got?, Susie and Tiff had fish tacos (I had them last Tuesday so I didn't want them again) barramundi, one had slaw on the other had red beans and rice, and I had chicken tenders.

If it helps, yesterday I had, umm, actually I don't know what you call it, it was peach moonshine and passion fruit puree, with tajin on the rim. Kitty photobombed

We're having chili dogs. We don't have them often so I'm looking forward to it.
