Living Room Design Dilemma Home Decorating

Awkward Living Room

We are moving into a home with a large living room (16' x 24.5') but it has lower ceilings, and a fireplace at one end (where it's a pass-through between two doorways. There is already a dining room and so dividing up that way isn't an option. But I am stumped about furniture placement. Would love some creative thinkers to offer ideas!

My LR almost exactly that size but my FP in the long wall with the wa;skays on either side . We have 2 sitting areas that are great for entertaing and function well for smaller groups too. IMO you start by deciding what you need in the space and often that is the TV We have no TV in our LR . The very fancy scrolled doorways is not working IMO the rest of the space looks very nice .We need info at what you need from the space

I would arrange a seating area in the narrower space, with or without a TV. The area around your fireplace is mostly traffic paths, so you won't be putting sofas in front of it.

Maybe a small games table and 2 chairs in front of the fireplace.

Can any of the 3 doorways be closed off?
