Its hard to be able to tell from picture, but, they do appear to have wings, and that is most definitely termite damage and even their mud tunnels, and the damage is quite severe. Its time to call in a professional exterminator, and get it all taken care of, and then, you can call a contractor to assess what needs to be done with all the damage.

The insects pictured above are ants.

I don't see any wings.

They are regular house ants, which I am told are most likely there feeding on the termites.

It is an unfinished garage, and dmage is not on anything structural.  Will treat and hope that is the end.

Have you made sure that it hasnt spread to your house and other out buildings? Termites spread very fast. At our last house, there was a house across the road that had termites really bad, and the exterminator that was there taking care of the problem, inspected all the houses close to it, free of charge. Only one of those houses had termites, and it was the one next door, to the termite infested house.

Yes, they inspected house as well (which was just rebuilt)  getting professionally treated for the next year.  Thank you for bringing that up.
