Hi all, we’re building and have a problem with the fireplace. For reference:

Sorry i dont have a full picture. the interior fire brick will be painted black, mantle will be BM white dove. I’d picked this tile

It was to run vertically on the face, with the flat matching for the hearth.

As it turns out, the sides of the face are off by 1/2”. The problem is with the firebox, not the mantel. I think the flutes would emphasize the uneven sides, and I’m sick about it.

Has anyone ever seen fluted tile run horizonitally? Googling has been unhelpful. I’m thinking it woukd look weird, but want to exhaust all possibilities before I give up on this gorgeous tile.
