I have a bonus room off my master bedroom that I’m turning into a well needed walk in closet. It’s not a huge room but definitely offers great space for a closet.

I am considering full length sliding mirror doors on the 2 middle compartments on both sides of the closet the 4 side compartments are open. The sliding doors are expensive but can slide to the right or left offering versatility.
If I place a central island with drawers, I would not have enough space to stand in front of the mirrors, far enough, and use them as intended.
Should I forgo the mirror doors and put the money toward the central island? I can put regular doors instead. Or I can put one full length mirror door closer to the closet entrance where the island wouldn’t be in the way.
My questions are:
1-What is a better investment: island with drawers or the sliding mirror doors on tracks?
2- Should I include some more drawers in the closet system itself, if I have enough drawers in my bedroom? I don’t want to be missing out on a closet must have.
3- when painting the walls, should I consider using the same color for the ceiling?
I would appreciate any input!

I have no dressers in my bedroom but for sure have drawers in my my walk in closet . IMO the whole point of a nice wa;lk in closet is you do not need doors . As for keeping it looking neat that is up to you since not a space used by anyone else I would do the island in the middle even add a seat there for sure. As for the actual design that is a very personal thing so when working with the designer a good long sit down is a must . I have 80 pairs of shoes they need a home so abig deal for me. I have many coats all need a space . This can be a fun project but my suggestion would be get all the stuff in this space now not some in the bedroom some here.

If the bonus room has 4 walls and a door, do you need sliding doors at all inside the walk-in closet?

What are the closet’s interior dimensions? What is the island size?

Definitely have a usable mirror inside the closet.

I do have drawers in our his and her walk-in closets as we use them as dressing rooms. We don’t have any bureaus with clothing/accessories in the bedroom itself which frees up a lot of space.

Three walls and French doors. I have the technical drawings with dimensions attached. Island would be the average size of 3x4 leaving more than standard distance between island and closet. I don’t necessarily need the doors but thought it would keep things tidy, and offer a mirror solution as I have no other place for a mirror in the closet.
I thought in the center on both sides for symmetry but they are a hefty expense that I had to trade the island for them so I’m double guessing.

Possibilities for mirror:

-Narrow tall mirrors on either side of windows.

-Replace closet’s french doors with solid doors and mount full length mirrors on inside of door(s).

If you skip the island, consider a long bench on window wall or a large leather ottoman.

If you nix the mirrored doors you’ll still have a full length mirror, but if you nix the island you won’t have those drawers or that flat top that would be useful (for folding clothes, etc)

With a closet that size I would expect to be able to completely dress myself in the closet and not need to go out to the bedroom for anything, or at least not for the basics.

Very little actual storage for a closet of that size.

How about mirrors on any of these doors, so the island wouldn’t be in the way? Or on the back of the actual door to the room?

Exactly what I’m thinking right now now، gave up on the expensive sliding mirror doors to add the island per budget! Regularly mirrored doors will go exactly in these 4 corners.

Thank you all for steering me in the right direction! Island is in, mirrors doors moved to peripheries. This rendering is missing mirrored compartments by the window.
Now deciding on paint color for walls/ ceiling and a chandelier to go over the island!

We signed off. Using very reputable company. Our issue now is we have a
Very unattractive florescent light currently .

Due to the gable in ceiling we need advise on lighting . The ceiling reduces to only 25 inches wide . The floor to ceiling is 80 inches.
