The general consensus is to do the same countertop on all cabinets when you have 2 cabinet finishes.

Skip doing the cabinets 2 toned. All white and oak island with one countertop on both. 2 cabinet colors and 2 different countertops is too many differences

Consider doing the same wood for all the cabinets and doing White Island. I would do Taj on perimeter and island.
You don’t mention what flooring or if any backsplash so I gather the Taj is the main character.

You’re getting good advice. Two cabinet tones and two counter tops reads mismatched. If you plan to keep the two-toned cabinets, consider wood on the bottom and white on top. Painted cabinetry shows wear more readily, and base cabinets take more punishment than uppers do. It’s also customary to keep the lighter cabinet on top.

If you decide instead to go with two different counter tops, Taj goes well with wood, so consider a butcher block island top. It is generally a warm cream color that you could pair with black, but it might come off a bit of a stark contrast.

do you have the taj counter slab chosen. ? ...its usually very warm undertoned..like khaki veering yellow and seems golden many times ...occasionally I've seen slabs with more white overall ...your cabinet stain is really brown/ reddish undertone... I'd be careful.

taj mahal counter works well here w cream painted island and lighter/natural wood stain. if your slab has been chosen after sampling with cabinet stain next to it okay then.

Four materials - two cabinet and two counter is really chaotic looking.

What is your flooring and what are your appliance finishes?

the deeper rich reddish browns always look good w as simple / clean white counter as possible.....maybe butcher block for the island top...but not sure if you can reconsider the taj mahal.

Update: there are no red tones in the cabinet stain. Maybe it looks that way in the picture, but in real life, it is a brown/honey colour toned wood stain.

IMO all one counter and 2 toned cabinets or all one color for cabinets and a star for the island counter but not both.

In a two tone cabinet kitchen the darker color is generally used for the lowers and white for uppers. It grounds the room.

My mom always told us to look to mother nature for advice - light comes from the sky and is dispersed by objects till the floor of the forest is dark and protective. Light at the top, dark at the bottom.

The other reason for doing wood on the lowers and white on the uppers is that wood is more durable and won't show damage as easily as white/painted cabinets and the lowers tend to take more abuse.

Would advise you to listen to Patricia Colwell (and other similar advice). Two colors of cabinetry and two types of countertops is most like going to look like a mishmash.
