I have had rain the past two days and more expected today and tomorrow as well as next week. I can’t remember such a rainy July. Dearest Valentine looks good. I have two rebloom scapes on it. I hope the Kindred Jewel seedling shapes up next year as it is a pretty thing. The August Frost seedling is still looking good. Wigglesworth is a little different look for you!!

I only took two photos this morning. The season is ending but there are tons of rebloom scapes out there. The rain will probably end and they will dry up!

Kate - We had been pretty dry here for the past 8 days, so it was good to get some extended rain today. The Kindred Jewel seedling had 18 buds per scape last year in Nashville, so I'm hoping it will shape up next year. I'm happy to know you are getting rebloom on Dearest Valentine. Any rebloom scapes on Bubblegum Queen? I grew Wigglesworth in Nashville for several years. I liked it enough to rebuy it this Spring.

No rebloom yet on Bubblegum Queen although I expect it will. It bloomed from the middle of May until one day last week so was definitely a prolific bloomer-maybe it wants to rest a bit before rebloom!!

I like the August Frost seedling and of course Dearest Valentine. I also like Miss Goldie Gold Digger.

I really like this August Frost seedling too. I had gotten used to seeing Dearest Valentine and I miss it. Yours is very pretty. My garden gets less colorful every day too, Debra I am under 200 bloom now, but it is time for me and I hate that you are already winding down.

Jeanne Deaver's Dream and Born to Reign both really caught my attention. They are nice dark ones. Sweet Child of Mine is also an attention grabber.

Kay - I think I'm winding down so soon because I brought so few ML and L bloomers with me. Also, several of the MLs started blooming with EMs this time. Next year I expect more of those to adjust their time of bloom, and I also expect more buds once the plants have settled in and grown longer roots. On a few of my daylilies, I do have a few late scapes coming on fans that did not scape earlier.

Kate - Bubblegum Queen did bloom a long time for you! I hope it will rebloom later for you.

Brad - Born to Reign is doing pretty well for one that got planted in late October. I'm not sure if Jeanne Deavers Dream will flourish here. It only scaped on one fan and that scape was very short. I may be able to move it closer to the house where it has a better chance of surviving cold winters.

Nancy, Kay and Kate - The August Frost seedling was one of the very last to get planted, so scape height is not the 34 inches it was in Nashville. But one of the scapes is almost that tall, and many scapes have some lateral branching. It's one I hope to register in the future. I didn't have room to bring my whole clump, so I have to multiply it some more.

This week here has been a rolling peak in the garden, so yes, your garden seems to have peaked early. Lots of Hansons are just starting. Ruth Watkins may be a question mark in the north. Sweet Chile looks good.

Mantis - Ruth Watkins Davidson will likely hang on well enough for my hybridizing purposes. It's planted in a bad place right now. Maybe I can move it later. The other Davidson, Summer Kate, is a dormant and overwintered very well.
