open shelves won't make your space feel open, they just look like clutter.

you already have glass front cabinets above that open up the look.

I don't like a sink in an island, always something in the sink.

I would have drawers in the base cabinet to the right of the refrigerator.

Drawers are more useful in base cabinets, just allow for depth.

Does the kitchen open to a dining space or great room? No outside wall in the kitchen space?

Both door open to the pantry behind the range wall? Where does the vent go?

A 3D is neet to look at, but a dimensioned floor plan showing just the kitchen and one showing the kitchen and surrounding space, along with elevations for each wall will help the helpers help you.

you are directing people from either the garage service entrance or front door to be obligated to pass right down through your kitchen. I would seriously change the layout. It looks miserable. If you cant think of how start w an attempt to locate the kitchen in the dining zone.

Yep, the kitchen is serving as the hallway. I wasn't crazy about those door openings even before seeing it's like grand Central station! Imagine the path of someone carrying a load of sheets from the bedrooms to the laundry room...not great.

Back to the drawing board.

It looks like a poor plan layout from one of the websites that sell drawings. The laundry room is bigger than a walk-in closet. Having a pocket door kills the entire wall of shelving. The water closet room looks cramped; it will be hard to get in and out, especially for a larger person. Venting a range hood fan could be an issue.

As @rebasheba stated, the entire layout should be overhauled.

What about this? This keeps traffic out of the kitchen, and gives added circulation to the house.

The pantry is reach-in, no wasted floor space. Opposite the pantry is a coat closet, and another closet for pantry, I’m thinking especially paper products and extra food storage containers.

Pocket door to the garage entry, it will be open 95% of the time but nice to close it when you have guests. I’d add another pocket door between kitchen and mudroom, since it is in view of the living room.

The laundry is a nice size, room for cleaning supplies, and maybe even a utility sink? but honestly, having a door to the closet isn’t necessary. Better to close that off, then you have room for air-drying clothes, or shallow/hanging storage on the long wall (cordless vac, swiffer, etc.).

Rethink the wet room inthe primary bath. Also, is there enough counterspace and drawers underneath? Maybe a single sink will serve your needs better. The closet is a little small for two people, only about 4’ per person. Even though I like the size of the laundry, you could steal 2’ for the closet.

Does the secondary bathroom have enough countertop and storage below for the users? In both bathrooms, plenty of medicine cabinet space will be welcome.

Finally, what is with packaged floor plans these days, where the owners walk out of their bedrooms into mudrooms, laundries, and kitchens, the hard-working spaces, with shoes and coats and last night’s dishes, instead of to a pleasant view like a window?
