How to Expand This Trellis?

I have a 53-inch opening between two raised beds and installed a trellis that is 30 inches wide to grow Mandevilla vines. The trellis is really too small for the plants, but I could not find a trellis I liked that was under 53 inches in width. Is there a simple way I could leave this trellis in place but put up some support structure on either side of it to handle the overflow? Ideally, I do not want to mount anything to the fence, to make fence repair easy in the future. If you know of a good trellis for this space, preferably PVC, please link to that.

I think the white lattice would show off the trellis nicely.

Construction Adhesive wouldn't show like wire would. With just 9" on each side, the lattice is sturdy enough it would not need extra support.

If you use plastic garden ties to train the plant, make sure it does not strangle the limbs as they get bigger, I had the problem with my Chinese Lantern when the limbs would just die. I went back to inspect and found the plastic is not as flexible as you think it would be and was pinching the branches quite severely.

I would attach a 4x8 white lattice panel to the back of your trellis to "frame" it.

@tracefloyd That's an interesting idea. You would just wire tie that to the white trellis, or would you mount that to some fence posts on either side of the trellis? I guess if you used fence posts at that point you just take out the existing trellis.

Two fence posts with a framed version of this lattice would have a minimalist appearance, and with the fence posts it wouldn't look cheap.

@Sigrid Posts planted into the raised beds and spanning between them would look awkward I think.

As I understand Sigrid's idea, vertical posts would not be visible; trellises would be in front of them.

@four (9B near 9A) She did not say that, but I agree with you if you went that route, hiding the vertical posts behind the trellis would be a better design.

Honestly I'd just add a wire trellis extension on both sides and call it a day. Once the mandevilla fills in, nobody's gonna notice what part is original and what part was added anyway.
