Olde Romeo was one of my very favorite roses! According to my database, I got it in June 2003, my notation for source is "cutting", which means I probably got it from the San Jose Heritage Rose Garden. I lost it some time in the past ~8-10 years, and was never able to source it again. Like a lot of my out-of-commerce roses that I've lost, I kick myself for taking them for granted and not making cuttings all of those years! Fingers crossed you can find someone who grows it :-D

I hate to hear that Peter isn't custom propagating for shipping anymore. Oh well. He still has one of the most interesting collections for sale anywhere.

@Sheila z8a Rogue Valley OR Sheila, I only took it to mean that he isn't shipping custom-propagated roses in the East. I don't know why, because there are a lot more impediments to shipping ANY plant material to a great deal of the West. It's confusing to me, but I'm sure Peter has his reasons.

Yes, he only mentioned the east coast - this is what he emailed me: " No longer shipping anything to eastern US; except of course custom orders already placed. "

That is a bit surprising about Peter. His custom orders are a wonderful service.

One would have to have a friend pick the custom order up and mail it to the orderer. Or, it could be shipped out west and the receiver ship it back to the orderer. Good thing we all have so many friends around the country.
