Flooring Design Dilemma

Which way to lay flooring?

last year

We are redoing our main floor & installing luxury vinyl plank in our open concept living room/kitchen. Would you suggest laying the flooring perpendicular to the main windows or along the main windows?
This would create either a long area by the island or a choppier area by the island.
The windows are large & along the left side of the first pics.

I like fake wood floor to be layed like real wood so perpendicular to the joists which usally makes the planks run the long way starting in the entry hall

It's more important that it looks right where that flooring begins rather than the backside of your kitchen island.
