Getting back to normal again

Bob and I just finished what I believe was the busiest week in our lives. We dug about 350 plants, drove to Lafayette Indiana, set up a sales booth for our local club., manned it the whole time it was open, and visited four gardens at the Region 2 Summer Conference. We also brought back 10 new plants--some gifts and some purchased. We came home yesterday exhausted. We are just too old for that much work. While we were gone, it rained, apparently quite a bit, and continued to rain today too. The flowers looked much refreshed this morning, but I didn't get many photos.

Nostromo is new to the garden. Bob wanted it because it is a reverse bitone tet. Most of the reverse bitone/bicolor we have are diploid.

Another new one to the garden is Sally Sullivan's Painting.

I just had to take other photo of our favorite noid.

Here are a few seedlings blooming today.

This one was a bonus plant labeled Orange Stripe. We wish we knew more about it. We are treating it as a diploid right now.

Digging that many plants absolutely makes me exhausted just reading about it! I cannot even fathom doing that, much less all those other activities!

Your noid is quite impressive. Love those colors. Sally Sullivan’s Painting is an interesting one. The seedlings are looking good. Hope you can get some rest.

You made me tired just reading your schedule. The real question is though did you have any fun?..........I like the color of your seedling Mango Crush x Deliquent Doll. I keep going back to look at it. Neat........Sally Sullivan's Painting has a unique look. I hope you get to post more of it......I'm with your on that NOID. Is there a way to ever register Noids?.......Maryl

Wow Nan, I cant imagine doing all of that and still be standing, makes me tired too. Hope the sale was worth the work you put into it. At least the garden tours gave you a few minutes to relax. I am a fan of the noid. Deadliest Catch gave you some nice toothy seedlings.

Maryl, we did have some fun, but it definitely is more fun when you don't have to do some work. Our club made about $1000 and had no plant left over (always a bonus) so I guess it was worth it. So many of our club members were involved in other ways (tour gardens, open gardens, etc.) that we didn't have much help, but it was ok. We brought back 10 plants so the work goes on. Now we have to find places for them.

As far as the noid is concerned, I am sure it is a named variety. Someone on this forum suggested Opera Elegance as a name. We finally tracked down and purchased Opera Elegance so that we can compare. It did bloom this year and the color is similar, but I'm not sure they are the same. They are planted in different spots in the garden which might be an issue when comparing. The shape of the flowers differed a bit and the scape of Opera Elegance was taller. They were blooming at the same time. We'll wait until OE gets established and then make a determination.

Nice group of blooms. Oh my - 350 plants dug, cleaned and ready for selling is quite a task not to mention everything else you were doing. Kuddos to you and Bob.
